Mr. Tran Ngoc Sang (43 years old, living in group 78, doing business at Tho Quang fishing port) said he was fed up with breakfasts of instant noodles, dried instant noodles, fried instant noodles... This morning, when the People's Committee of Da Nang City allowed take-out, he woke up at 6am to go buy food.
“Walked around the ward to find a bowl of beef noodle soup to satisfy my craving. But I had to find 2-3 familiar restaurants but they weren’t open yet. I went to the restaurant at 164 Khuc Hao early but it was quite crowded. To get 4 bowls of noodles for the whole family, I had to wait for more than half an hour to buy them,” said Mr. Sang.

Like Mr. Sang, many people were very happy after buying a bowl of familiar-flavored beef noodle soup.
“It’s been two months since I’ve tasted a bowl of noodles. I just hope the pandemic will pass quickly and the shops will reopen…”, shared Ms. Lan, a resident. The owner of the shop at 262 Khuc Hao said that since 5am, people in the Nai Hien Dong green area, taking advantage of their time to exercise, have stopped by his shop to buy food for the whole family to eat breakfast. “There are only two people in the shop, the wife cooks and I pack. There are many customers, running around like a shuttle. Although I’m exhausted, I feel very happy…”, the shop owner confided.

Thanh Nien reporters recorded that on many streets such as Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ngo Gia Tu, Pasteur... which are green zones, there are many restaurants, but most of them have not yet reopened. A few stores have opened, but people are lining up. Customers are required to keep their distance and ensure the 5K principle throughout the shopping process.
Ms. Ta Thi Kim Lien (owner of Mr. Ta's noodle shop, Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District) said that in recent days, some regular customers have placed orders, and the shop sells through delivery through a team of shippers. However, selling through shippers is difficult because the shipper team is still small, and sometimes it takes half an hour for orders to reach customers.

“I was so happy to hear that the store was reopening. There were fewer customers than usual, but being open and having customers was a joy. I also want to make a living. Although I know there will be many difficulties, I will try my best to sell slowly and wait for the social distancing to end. I will try to implement 5K, as well as other measures to ensure safety and prevent the epidemic,” said Ms. Lien.
Meanwhile, at the Hai Hue rice noodle shop (Hai Chau district), customers are constantly asked by staff to keep their distance. Busy with her family serving dozens of customers waiting, Ms. Nguyen Hue, owner of the Hai Hue rice noodle shop, said that the long period of closure has weighed heavily on her shoulders due to the heavy burden of rent. Day and night, Ms. Hue's family is looking forward to selling again to earn a living.
“Since yesterday, family members have been busy preparing raw materials in time to reopen this morning. This morning, seeing customers coming to buy goods, I cried with joy. The epidemic situation in the city is under control, people are gradually returning to a new normal life. To me, today is like Tet,” Ms. Hue said tearfully.

On the morning of September 16, Mr. Vo Truong Anh (Chairman of Hai Chau 1 Ward People's Committee, Hai Chau District) said that on the first day that shops were allowed to open for take-out, the locality had sent out a reminder to shops to ensure compliance with epidemic prevention regulations.
Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, from 8:00 a.m. on September 16, Da Nang City relaxed many activities in the "yellow zones" and "green zones". In addition, for green zones and inter-green zones (many green zones at the ward and district levels adjacent to each other), people are allowed to leave their homes to go to supermarkets and convenience stores. Traditional markets sell goods directly to people within green zones and inter-green zones. Each household can choose to go to the supermarket or market every 3 days and must have a QR code purchase receipt according to regulations. |
