BHG - Currently, we are entering the transitional season, which is a favorable environment for disease outbreaks and spread among livestock. Functional sectors and local authorities are stepping up propaganda and guiding livestock farmers to synchronously implement disease prevention and control measures, ensuring stable development of livestock and poultry.
The poultry flock of Mr. Vuong Van Son's family, Hong Tien village, Tung Ba commune (Vi Xuyen) is always cared for and effectively prevented from diseases. |
Mr. Vuong Van Son's family in Hong Tien village, Tung Ba commune (Vi Xuyen) raises chickens on a large scale, over 2,000 chickens. To ensure the good development of the livestock, his family regularly sprays disinfectants in the barn area, minimizing pathogens. At the same time, they vaccinate on schedule, with sufficient doses, and regularly monitor and closely supervise the flock. Mr. Son said: Due to large-scale farming, if an epidemic occurs, the damage will be significant, so my family pays special attention to disease prevention and control for the flock. Strengthen hygiene, keep the barn dry, spray disinfectants on the barn and farming equipment. At the same time, treat waste using measures to ensure environmental hygiene. Feed the chickens clean food and clean water. Regularly monitor the health of the livestock, detect sick animals early to isolate, treat, and handle promptly, to avoid spreading.
Owning a beef cattle farm with a scale of 200 cows in Mich B village, Thuan Hoa commune (Vi Xuyen), Cat Ly Cooperative pays special attention to disease prevention and control for the herd. Remove leftover food and waste from the breeding area, ensuring the living environment of the herd is clean and dry. Record the vaccination history of each cow. Provide clean drinking water and nutritious food to strengthen the immunity of the herd, helping to effectively prevent and control infectious diseases.

According to the report, since the beginning of the year, cattle septicemia has occurred in 2 districts in the province, killing 4 cows (Lung Chinh commune, Meo Vac district, 3 cows; Lung Cu commune, Dong Van district, 1 cow). At present, most of the diseases that have been vaccinated for livestock since 2024 such as foot-and-mouth disease, lumpy skin disease, cattle septicemia, swine fever... have expired. Therefore, the risk of disease outbreaks in the coming time is very high, seriously affecting the health and lives of people, the environment, and food supply. The Provincial People's Committee directed districts and cities to urgently allocate funds to purchase vaccines and organize vaccination for livestock and poultry, ensuring that the vaccination rate for each disease reaches at least 80% of the total herd. Organize and closely monitor the disease situation in livestock, especially in old outbreaks and high-risk areas to promptly detect, warn and handle new outbreaks.
The province's specialized agencies are actively coordinating with localities to guide livestock farmers to strengthen the application of disease prevention and hygiene measures for livestock. At the same time, step up the management and control of the transportation of animals and animal products; detect and strictly handle cases of trading, transporting and slaughtering animals that do not ensure requirements on disease prevention and control and food safety. Livestock households need to proactively monitor the health of livestock, detect early signs of abnormalities for isolation, monitoring and treatment, and immediately notify local veterinary staff for timely handling instructions; absolutely do not hide epidemics, do not sell, slaughter or dump the carcasses of sick or suspected sick animals into the environment.
