Bac Quang - a bright spot in the development of literature and art in the new era

BHG - As a locality with a long-standing traditional culture, over the years, Bac Quang district has always paid attention to preserving, promoting and popularizing the cultural beauty of ethnic groups, especially focusing on orienting literary and artistic creation activities according to the motto of preserving and promoting good traditional values, while criticizing backward customs and negative phenomena in society.

Implementing the Action Program No. 86-CTr/TU dated February 1, 2010 of the Provincial Party Committee to implement Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2008 of the Politburo (10th tenure) on "Continuing to build and develop literature and art in the new period", the field of literature and art in the district has many positive changes. Literary and artistic activities have new developments and are more professional. Activities of disseminating, composing and promoting works are diverse and rich. Movement activities have developed extensively, attracting more and more artists and people from all walks of life to participate in creation, effectively serving the political tasks of the locality. The team of artists and writers has gradually become younger, patriotic, proud of the nation, and dedicated to their profession.

The Bac Quang District Literature and Arts Association currently has a total of 323 members, including 11 branches in communes and towns. Every year, members proactively and actively implement the Association's work programs, actively work creatively, devote much enthusiasm to the fields of composition and research, fully participate in creative camp activities organized by the Provincial Literature and Arts Association (Quan Ba, Dong Van, Quang Binh Creative Camps...etc.); send art works to participate in regional competitions and submit them to magazines; there are regular exchanges of expertise and profession between members of the Association and members of other districts to promote the development of literary and artistic activities.

In addition, the Association regularly cares for and fosters creative abilities, creating favorable conditions for members to promote their abilities and strengths. It has created conditions for over 100 members and collaborators to participate in training programs and technical training programs organized by the Central Association and the Provincial Literature and Arts Association. Through training courses, workshops, and creative camps, members and collaborators are well equipped with political awareness, the position and role of literature and arts in social life; they can exchange experiences, improve their professional skills, and contribute to improving the quality of artists' creations, and improving their capacity and creative thinking. These activities have continuously improved the quantity and quality of members' works, meeting the increasingly high demands and demands for spiritual culture of the people of all ethnic groups in the district.

Bac Quang Literature and Arts Association admits new members in 2025

Every year, the District Arts and Literature Association assigns members to meet and discuss with collaborators about professional matters, helping collaborators improve the quality of their works, thereby discovering young talents to develop members and add to the team of people working in the arts.

In the past, the Literature and Arts Association has introduced 7 members to the Provincial Literature and Arts Association for admission and 4 comrades have met the criteria to become members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association. Every year, the district organizes 1 to 2 trips for members to go to localities inside and outside the province to find materials to create new works.

In recent years, despite many difficulties in operating costs, the District Literature and Arts Association has made great efforts in orienting its members to participate in composing and publishing. As a result, over 25 publications have been published, such as: 11 literary and arts newsletters, 2 prose works, 6 poetry collections, 2 stories, 1 folk literature research work, 6 musical works. The literary and arts creation movement has received positive responses, with members having composed over 800 prose, poetry, skits, folk studies, etc. The Association has actively encouraged its members to participate in competitions launched by the province and the Central Government and annual awards of specialized associations; encouraged artists to increase their creative activities and promote literary and arts works, thereby making literary and arts activities always closely follow the requirements of the current renovation process. There are a number of artists whose outstanding literary and artistic works have received high awards at all levels, affirming their mark of labor, creativity and outstanding faces in the general movement of the Association.

To create cohesion among members, every year the Bac Quang District Literature and Arts Association has focused on coordinating with departments in the district's propaganda sector to organize music festivals, poetry and music exchanges between members and the public on the occasions of celebrating major holidays, contributing to making the district's cultural and artistic life more vibrant and rich.

Talking about the Association's direction of activities in the coming time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, President of the Bac Quang Literature and Arts Association emphasized: From the results achieved in recent years, in the coming time, the Association will continue to strengthen the organization, gather and develop members, compete in creative labor, and gradually bring the district's literature and arts career to new heights. Research and find practical and effective methods of operation suitable to local conditions. Take advantage of sponsorship from all levels, sectors, and mass organizations; arouse the creative potential of artists, especially artists of ethnic minorities, in order to inherit and promote the unique cultural traditions and rich identities of the ethnic groups in the district.
