Accordingly, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as civil servants and public employees) will have a holiday for the Lunar New Year 2025 from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (ie December 26, Giap Thinh year) to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (ie January 5, At Ty year). This holiday lasts 9 days, including 05 days for Lunar New Year and 04 days off every week.

Civil servants and public employees will have a holiday for National Day 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This holiday includes 02 National Day holidays and 02 weekly days off.
Civil servants and public employees will have their working days changed from Friday, May 2, 2025 to Saturday, April 26, 2025. Thus, on the occasion of Victory Day, April 30, and International Labor Day, May 1, 2025, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30, 2025 to Sunday, May 4, 2025 (working as a compensatory day on Saturday, April 26, 2025).

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requests agencies and units to implement the Lunar New Year holiday schedule, National Day holiday, Victory Day holiday on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, to arrange and organize departments on duty according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to organizations and people. In particular, it is important to assign officers and civil servants on duty to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur during Tet holiday and holidays according to regulations.
Agencies, units and localities have specific and appropriate plans and measures to encourage units, enterprises, organizations and individuals to actively and proactively implement production, business, economic and social activities, ensuring stable supply and demand of goods, services, prices and markets, contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, fighting waste, striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan, accelerating, making breakthroughs, implementing the 5-year plan 2021-2025, creating a solid foundation and premise for rapid and sustainable development in the coming time.
Agencies and units arrange appropriate vacation schedules.
According to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, agencies and units that do not have a fixed schedule of Saturday and Sunday off every week will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable schedule of off, in accordance with the provisions of law.
Agencies and units can arrange appropriate leave schedules.
For employees who are not cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, the employer decides to choose the option of Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day holiday on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025 as follows:
For Lunar New Year holidays: choose 01 last day of the year of Giap Thin and 04 first days of the year of At Ty or 02 last days of the year of Giap Thin and 03 first days of the year of At Ty or 03 last days of the year of Giap Thin and 02 first days of the year of At Ty.
For National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and choose 1 of 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025 or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Employers shall notify employees of the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday plans in 2025 at least 30 days before implementation.
If the weekly day off coincides with a public holiday as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employee shall be entitled to take a compensatory weekly day off on the next working day as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs encourages employers to apply the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day holiday on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025 for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.
Other holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code.
