The Dien Bien Phu victory will forever be an immortal heroic epic - "A shining golden milestone" in the history of our nation. In that historic campaign, despite not having much advantage in terms of military force, with only rudimentary means and weapons, our army and people fought back stronger and stronger, and defeated a powerful colonial empire. This was not only due to the correct attack strategies and tactics, but also thanks to the solidarity and unanimous support of the people of the whole country. It can be affirmed that the Dien Bien Phu victory was a victory of the strength of great national unity.

The strategic decisive battle took place far from the rear, where the terrain and traffic were very difficult... Faced with that challenge, with the courage, intelligence and heroism of the Vietnamese revolution, the combined strength of both the rear and the frontline was brought into full play, promptly providing all requirements for food, provisions, and weapons throughout the campaign. With the slogan "All for the frontline, all for victory", all localities competed to support the front. Youth volunteer forces and frontline laborers from many localities were mobilized to meet the requirements of the campaign.
Mr. Tran Van Khoa, a former youth volunteer in Cu Van commune, Dai Tu district, said: "At that time, the spirit of the brothers did not hesitate to work day and night, working at night mainly because they could not go out during the day because there were many planes attacking."
Ms. Ha Thi Hue, a frontline laborer in Duc Phu hamlet, Phuc Thuan commune, Pho Yen city, said: "There are many laborers, during the day they mend clothes and cook rice for the soldiers."
In addition to the great contributions of human and material resources to the campaign, the spirit of solidarity was also demonstrated in the determination to fight and win of the entire nation, especially the shock troops on the front lines, directly fighting the enemy. The memories of the Dien Bien soldiers still clearly depict the image of loyal comrades, ready to fight according to the Party's ideal goals under the banner of the united front.
Dien Bien soldier Tran Xuan Yen, Phan Dinh Phung ward, Thai Nguyen city said: "The 308 cadre came back and told us that we were added to the 308 Division. All the brothers gathered together, excited to go fight the enemy, fight big battles."
Dien Bien soldier Pham Quan Hong, Quang Vinh ward, Thai Nguyen city said: "We wrote on our hats that we are determined to fight to the end."
The Dien Bien Phu Campaign, the pinnacle of the people's war, a victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world" was created by ordinary people, but with courageous and steadfast actions and deeds - heroes born from the people, fighting for the people. There is no fortress that cannot be destroyed, only the people's hearts and national spirit are inviolable. The heroic epic of Dien Bien Phu was written with the aspiration for independence and freedom, the spirit of solidarity and the will to "fight and win" of an entire nation and will continue to resonate today and tomorrow./.
