The Vietnam Red Cross Society has just coordinated with the Vietnam Youth Union to launch a community fundraising communication campaign called "Millions of Kind Steps" with many meaningful activities for children and poor people in Dien Bien, Son La, and Thai Nguyen provinces.
Launched on February 25, the campaign aims to attract 70,000 people to participate in sports (walking/running) and record their achievements via the V-Race application. When reaching 700,000km, the corresponding fundraising cost will reach 7 billion VND to build 7 semi-boarding kitchens for students in mountainous areas; support sustainable livelihoods for 70 poor families, organize the Humanitarian Market to provide necessities for 700 disadvantaged families, provide nutritional advice and support for 7,000 poor children, organize medical examinations and provide free medicine for 7,000 people in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien, Son La, Thai Nguyen provinces.

The event is also a highlight in a series of activities responding to the Humanitarian Month in May 2024 and is an activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). The campaign will last 56 days and nights, mobilizing over 70,000 people, conquering 700,000 km with routes to historical sites ATK Thai Nguyen, Uncle Ho Monument with the ethnic groups of the Northwest (Son La City, Son La Province) and Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province.
Each step of participating organizations and individuals will spread messages of humanity about blood donation, tissue, organ and human body donation, environmental protection and especially will raise funds to carry out projects and humanitarian work to help disadvantaged and disabled children and poor people have the opportunity to excel in their studies, work and life.
Mr. Bui Tuan Quang - Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization said: The "Million Steps of Kindness" campaign aims to attract 70,000 participants on the VRACE online platform. The campaign is a mass sports event associated with humanitarian goals, with profound humanistic meaning, promoting the spirit of physical exercise and health training of each citizen, while spreading positivity and kindness for the community. The Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization believes that the "Million Steps of Kindness" campaign will achieve its set goals, be a brilliant and impressive start, creating motivation, strong and exciting spirit in the Humanitarian Month of 2024, which will be deployed nationwide.

Also at the launching ceremony, the program's Organizing Committee organized voluntary blood donation, mobilized and received registrations for humanitarian organ and tissue donation. The activities received the participation and response of a large number of young people, students, officials, members, Red Cross volunteers, and charitable organizations and individuals.
