Oranges and tangerines are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Specialist Doctor 2 Huynh Tan Vu, Head of the Day Treatment Unit, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, said that oranges are sweet, cool, and have the effect of clearing heat, clearing the lungs, and eliminating phlegm. Oranges are also rich in vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, etc. Orange juice is a delicious, nutritious summer drink that can be combined with other tubers and fruits to make attractive juices. You can add a little salt or sugar to make it easier to drink and not harmful to the stomach.

However, note that you should not drink too much orange juice, only drink 1 cup/day, equivalent to about 200ml. Pregnant women can drink more but should divide it into many times. Children should only drink 1/2 orange per day. People with stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, pancreatitis, or kidney disease should limit their orange intake. Do not eat oranges when hungry, or right after a full meal, or right before and after drinking milk.

Oranges contain many vitamins that help cool the body.

Lemon cools the body and helps treat heatstroke.

According to Oriental medicine, lemon has a sweet and sour taste, neutral properties, the effect of clearing heat, eliminating toxins, producing body fluids, quenching thirst, eliminating dampness, and stabilizing pregnancy. It can be used in cases of heatstroke, dehydration, thirst, agitation, mouth ulcers, poor appetite, etc.

Lemons are an extremely rich source of vitamins, especially containing large amounts of vitamin C, antioxidants and nutrients, helping to strengthen resistance, aid digestion, reduce fatigue, balance water and electrolytes, maintain moisture and elasticity for the skin on hot days.

Lemonade is a refreshing drink that is cheap, easy to buy and easy to make. On a hot summer day, a glass of fresh lemonade is wonderful, lemons and summer seem to go together.

Although it is a very good refreshing drink, do not abuse it, because using too much lemon juice can also cause harmful effects on health such as damaging tooth enamel, harming the stomach, causing gastroesophageal reflux, causing dehydration, excess vitamin C, etc. People with oral diseases, unstable stomach and duodenal diseases, or gastroesophageal reflux disease should not use lemon juice.

Cooling down the body properly in the summer is very important. It is necessary to pay attention to food safety for foods and drinks that cool down the hot season from the selection of ingredients, processing, preservation, use,... to keep the body cool and safe for health.

In addition, Dr. Vu recommends that you should drink enough water, wear cool, sweat-absorbent clothes, and wear protective clothing when working or going out in the sun (wearing a hat, gloves, sunglasses, masks, etc.). You should limit exposure to direct sunlight and minimize outdoor activities during hot weather to help prevent summer heat-related diseases.
