Gia Lai ranked 39th out of 54 provinces and cities in evaluating the results of implementing free trade agreements.

The province topping the rankings is Ca Mau with 34.90 points.

FTA Index is a new, quantitative and systematic tool, built on the basis of a survey of enterprises in provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide. The survey focuses on four main aspects, including: the level of access to information about FTAs ​​by enterprises; compliance with domestic legal regulations from FTA commitments; the effectiveness of programs and policies to support enterprises in taking advantage of FTAs ​​and the implementation of sustainable development commitments at the local level, while also recording the difficulties and obstacles that enterprises are facing.

According to the results of FTA implementation according to component indexes, such as: ranking of Component Index of Access to Information of FTAs ​​of provinces, Gia Lai ranked 46/54 with 5.16 points; ranking of Component Index of Implementation of Legal Regulations on FTAs, Gia Lai ranked 47/54 with 3.99 points; ranking of Component Index of Evaluation of some FTA implementation support programs, Gia Lai ranked 52/54 with 3.62 points; ranking of Component Index of Implementation of Sustainable Development Program according to FTA commitments, Gia Lai ranked 38/54 with 5.17 points.

The assessment results will provide a transparent and objective database for the Government, central and local agencies in directing, monitoring and operating integration work; supporting localities in assessing the results of FTA implementation according to the proposed action program. At the same time, it is the basis for formulating policies and development strategies suitable to the conditions and potentials of each locality. The index also contributes to raising awareness and promoting the proactive participation of the business community in taking advantage of opportunities from FTAs, improving the quality of implementation of business support programs, as well as testing tools to measure the effectiveness of international economic integration in a more scientific and practical way.
