Nguyen Van Anh took a 100km walking trip from Dong Nai to Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan) to experience and explore nature in a special way.
Discover life step by step
As a sales employee with flexible working hours, Van Anh (29 years old) has long cherished the idea of challenging himself with a hiking trip. The trip is an opportunity for him to feel the beauty of nature and people in the places he passes through.
Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, he said that the journey took place in 3 days and 2 nights. Along the way, he camped or found a local house to rest, both to save money and to have more opportunities to experience local life.
Departing early in the morning of February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), Van Anh warmed up lightly before starting the trip on the road along National Highway 1. Not using a motorbike, not following a fixed schedule, he chose to move slowly to fully enjoy the journey.
Many people offered to give him a ride, but he politely refused, determined to experience travel on his own in a special way.
“I choose to walk so I can stop at any time to enjoy the scenery, chat with locals and discover interesting things that I might miss if I went by motorbike or car,” Van Anh shared.
According to Van Anh, not all journeys were easy. The harsh weather, especially the hot sun of the Central region, made the trip a real challenge. The headwinds and the sweltering heat left him tired and exhausted.
Unforgettable trip
With a journey of nearly 50km on the first day, his legs felt like they were about to give up, exhausted and aching. However, Van Anh did not give up. In the following days, although he could only travel a shorter distance, he still persevered.
After 3 days of traveling, he arrived in Phan Thiet City, completing the challenging journey. Upon arrival, he not only relaxed at the beach, but also visited famous landmarks such as Duc Thanh relic site, Ca Ty river, Trung Trac flower garden,...
“This walk helps me practice perseverance, discipline and commitment to overcome all difficulties and challenges in life,” Van Anh shared.
At the end of the trip, he took a bus back to Dong Nai to return to his daily life. For Van Anh, the experiences he had during the trip will be unforgettable memories in his life.
“There is no need to set too big a goal, sometimes just a walk is enough to help you see things differently,” he said.
Van Anh said he was lucky to have completed the 100km journey. Thanks to his experience conquering previous running distances, he understands his body and does not encourage people to spontaneously undertake similar trips.
After this trip, he will plan new journeys, possibly exploring the coastal routes of the Central region or the mountainous areas of the North. He emphasized that each trip requires better preparation in terms of physical strength and safety.
