At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai reported to the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation on the results of the Embassy's work, the situation of Vietnam-China bilateral relations and the work of Vietnamese people in China.

Representatives of the Vietnamese community in China expressed their emotion that NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the delegation took the time to meet them right after arriving in Beijing. Along with that, the community representative also said that over the years, the community has always received great attention and support from the embassy, ​​helping people always feel warm-hearted, feel that the Fatherland is always by their side, looking towards them. The community representative affirmed that they are always united, attached, supporting each other to develop together and always looking towards their homeland, actively contributing to the country.

Secretary of the Party Cell of Vietnamese Students in China Le Duc Anh said that with more than 1,000 Vietnamese students in Beijing (out of a total of more than 10,000 students in China), the students always strive to study, research, and actively participate in activities to promote the image of Vietnam, thereby leaving good impressions about the country, Vietnamese people, and Vietnamese youth with Chinese and international friends. Le Duc Anh also hopes that there will be a network of innovation connecting with Vietnamese students in China; affirming his readiness to participate and contribute to the development of the country.

Strategic discussion of major issues

Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue said that he had visited China many times, but this was the first official visit as Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly. This was also the first visit to China by a Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly in five years. The visit was of great significance, taking place after two historic visits by the two highest leaders of the Party and State of the two countries in 2022 and 2023.

The National Assembly Chairman said that during the visit to Vietnam in 2023 of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on continuing to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China with strategic significance with 6 "more". This is a very important milestone bringing the relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples into a new phase, setting a new position for the relationship between the two countries.

Emphasizing the importance of this visit in maintaining the momentum of high-level contacts and high-level strategic exchanges between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and China, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the Vietnam-China Joint Statement in 2023 has "set a new position" for Vietnam-China relations and that it is the responsibility of all of us to implement and concretize the common perception between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, bringing about better concrete results, especially in the six pillars of cooperation that have been identified. The NA Chairman also emphasized the task of strengthening, consolidating and further tightening the relationship between the legislative bodies of the two countries, which has been very warm and has a long tradition, promoting the role of parliamentary cooperation in implementing and concretizing the strategic cooperation orientations between the two countries.

At the meeting, the NA Chairman said that within the framework of the visit, there will be meetings, talks, and contacts with key leaders of the Chinese Party and State and leaders of a number of Chinese localities right after the second session of the Two Sessions in 2024 of China... This is an important occasion for the two sides to have in-depth strategic exchanges on major issues in bilateral relations as well as the international and regional situation.

Research on China's experience in party building

Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue acknowledged and praised the important contributions of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in China to the relationship between the two countries. The Chairman of the National Assembly hoped that the Vietnamese Embassy would continue to deploy and promote more effective implementation of existing cooperation mechanisms between the two countries; focus on studying China's experience in party building, anti-corruption, corporate governance, etc. At the same time, research and closely coordinate so that the two sides can study and propose new cooperation mechanisms suitable to the specific conditions of the two countries, bringing benefits to both countries, in accordance with international law.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulates General in China, which have paid attention to community work, citizen protection, and the work of associations and unions, should pay more attention to community work, etc. The National Assembly Chairman welcomed the proposal of representatives of Vietnamese students studying in China on establishing an innovation network to attract the participation of Vietnamese students studying in China to contribute to the country's development.

The Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community, including the Vietnamese community in China, as an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, one of the driving forces and sources of strength for the country's development. From there, the Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that the overseas Vietnamese community in China will continue to promote the spirit of mutual love and affection, enhance the spirit of solidarity, help each other for mutual development; strive to rise up, actively integrate, comply with the law and contribute to local development. At the same time, always turn towards the homeland and the country, proactively make practical and effective contributions in terms of intelligence and resources to the cause of national construction and development; be a bridge for the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
