As the deadline for repairing damaged areas on National Highway 1, the BOT section through Ha Tinh, to be completed before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, is approaching, Cienco4 is urgently mobilizing human resources and machinery to carry out the repair.
These days, Cienco4 Group Joint Stock Company - the investor of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1 from the South of Ben Thuy Bridge to the North of Ha Tinh City bypass (35 km long, invested in the form of BOT) is mobilizing human resources, machinery and equipment to carry out the repair and restoration of the Km486 section through Dau Lieu Ward, Hong Linh Town. This is a severely degraded section with the road surface damaged in structure, peeling, cracking, cracking, sinking, rutting, causing traffic safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic.
The damaged road surface on section Km486 of National Highway 1, from South of Ben Thuy Bridge to North of Ha Tinh City bypass, is being scraped.
Km486 through Dau Lieu Ward, Hong Linh Town is one of the sections on National Highway 1 that needs to be prioritized for repair and restoration before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin to ensure traffic safety as requested by Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Tran Bau Ha at the inspection on January 4. At this section, the construction unit scraped off the degraded and damaged asphalt concrete layer, then cleaned and applied an adhesive emulsion layer before re-laying it with a new 12 cm thick asphalt concrete layer.
After scraping, cleaning, and watering with adhesive emulsion, a new 12 cm thick layer of asphalt concrete will be laid.
It was noted that by the afternoon of January 19, the contractor had finished scraping and resurfacing the lane near the hard median in the North-South direction and was working on repairing the remaining lane. This method ensures smooth traffic flow through the section under repair.
The South-North direction has finished scraping the lane near the hard median strip, covering it with a 7cm thick layer of C19 asphalt concrete, then compacted, before covering it with a 5cm thick layer of C16 asphalt concrete.
“The repair of damage on National Highway 1 through Ha Tinh is being carried out in a rolling manner. After completing the repair at Km486, we will continue to repair other locations. The capital for the construction is from the second road renovation project,” said Mr. Cao Xuan Cuong - Director of the Vinh City Bypass BOT Branch (project enterprise).
The lane near the hard median strip at Km486 was scraped and covered with a new layer of asphalt concrete.
Along with repairing the road surface, investors are also assigning workers to repaint worn and ineffective paint lines, especially the dividing lines between two lanes in the same direction.
Mr. Vo Truong Giang - Head of Road Management Office II.3 (Road Management Area II - Vietnam Road Administration) said: Before determining the locations and sections that need to be repaired, the unit coordinated with the Department of Transport, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Police and investors, project enterprises to review, inspect the current status and agree on items, volume, location, and completion time.
Investors and project enterprises must allocate resources, prioritize repairing and overcoming serious damage to the roadbed and surface with damage, peeling, turtle shell cracks, subsidence, rutting, affecting traffic safety with an area of 37,347 m2 - accounting for 14.5% of the total damaged area of the roadbed and surface of 257,483 m2 according to the volume in the field inspection report on July 27.
In addition, it is necessary to review, renovate and clean the entire signaling system, replace damaged reflective screens for all signs on the route; add worn, ineffective paint lines, speed bump paint lines; fill, clear and ditch some locations with stagnant water due to curb subsidence and road subsidence...
Repairs to severely damaged items and locations that need priority repair must be completed before January 25.
The road surface at the intersection of National Highway 1, from the South of Ben Thuy Bridge to the North of Ha Tinh City bypass with Nguyen Nghiem Street, Hong Linh Town, is being repaired.
“After completing the volume of repairs before the Lunar New Year, the unit requires investors and project enterprises to have a plan to promptly fix and repair the remaining damaged road surfaces because the roadbed and surface of these locations have degraded and are at risk of becoming more serious in the near future, causing traffic safety problems, and to immediately issue warnings when the damage affects traffic,” Mr. Vo Truong Giang informed.
From January 22, Ha Tinh has had cold rain, which will certainly affect the construction and repair process.
Although the investor is taking steps to repair the damage and deterioration on National Highway 1 from the South of Ben Thuy Bridge to the North of Ha Tinh City bypass, the completion deadline as required by the Provincial People's Committee and the Traffic Safety Committee of Ha Tinh Province is approaching (completed before January 25 to ensure traffic safety for people traveling during the Lunar New Year and the 2024 Spring Festival). Not to mention, according to the forecast from January 22, Ha Tinh will have prolonged cold and rainy weather, so the repair will be difficult to implement on schedule.
