By the evening of February 18, traffic on the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway (section through Cai Lay and Cai Be, Tien Giang province) had returned to normal.
At around 3:30 p.m. the same day, a series of accidents occurred on the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway, heading from the West to Saigon. At the scene, 7 vehicles were "stacked", vehicles were damaged, debris was scattered, two people were slightly injured.
The accident caused a long traffic jam on the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway, heading towards Ho Chi Minh City. The opposite direction was clear.
The Traffic Police Department coordinated with the functional forces of Tien Giang province to examine the scene, investigate the cause, and coordinate with the highway management unit to temporarily close the intersections on the highway near the accident to reduce the traffic load, and divert traffic to National Highway 1 to move to Ho Chi Minh City.
