Cao Quang Vinh took oath on the day of receiving Vietnamese citizenship

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Michel Delavictoire - Head of the Consular Department of the French Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Pham Thanh Cao - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Justice of Hanoi City, Mr. La Hoang Hung - Head of the Administrative Department of the Department of Justice of Hanoi City and Major Nguyen Manh Cuong - Executive Director of the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN).

After receiving the Decision, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh emotionally shared and took the oath: "Today is a special day in my life - the day I officially became a Vietnamese citizen. My heart is filled with happiness and pride. I was born in France but the Vietnamese blood in me always urges me to contribute to the country's football. I am grateful to CAHN Club and would like to thank the President, VFF, and the Department of Justice for trusting and supporting me to complete the naturalization procedures."

He continued: "This is not only an honor but also a promise and responsibility. I will use all my talent and enthusiasm to contribute to the national flag, so that every goal and every pass shows national pride."

On the VFF side, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu expressed his gratitude to the President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and relevant ministries and departments for creating conditions for Quang Vinh to be granted citizenship in a short time, thereby helping to strengthen the Vietnamese team.

"VFF will continue to monitor Quang Vinh's performance and development and believe that this player will make many contributions to the country's football," said Mr. Phu.

After the ceremony, Cao Quang Vinh and CAHN Club will travel to Indonesia to prepare for the first leg of the ASEAN Club Championship semi-final against PSM Makassar. The match will take place on April 2.

Previously, Cao Quang Vinh received news of his citizenship on March 19. After Nguyen Filip, Quang Vinh is the next foreign-born player to receive Vietnamese citizenship. If nothing changes, when Xuan Son recovers from his injury and returns to play at the end of the year, the Vietnamese team will have 3 foreign-born players in the squad, thereby being more confident in reaching the goal of winning a ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup finals.
