Receiving information from taxpayers in the area, through checking the content, Tam Ky Regional Tax Department found that this invitation was not issued by the tax authority, had incorrect title and signature of the leader and forged the tax authority's seal.

With these actions, if taxpayers do not consider carefully, they can easily mistake them for being requested by the tax authority and follow instructions, creating opportunities for impostors to take advantage of the tax authority to commit fraud, discrediting the tax industry.

To promptly prevent possible consequences due to impersonation of tax authorities and sending fake invitations by scammers, the Tam Ky - Phu Ninh Regional Tax Department recommends:

When receiving requests for work invitations, software installation, information provision, purchase of books, documents, training attendance, etc., taxpayers need to be vigilant, directly contact and verify information with the Tam Ky - Phu Ninh Regional Tax Department, address: 64 Hung Vuong, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province or by phone: 0235.3859153 and 0235.3810879 for support.

Taxpayers should not download or install applications for computers or smartphones through links not provided by the General Department of Taxation (The URL on the browser's address bar must start with " https:// " and end with the suffix " gdt.gov.vn "); be vigilant in cases where others directly access your computer or phone to assist in installing and using the tax authority's software.

In addition, on days in July and August 2024, Quang Nam Tax Department also received many reports from taxpayers about subjects forging invitations to Quang Nam Provincial Tax Department and Thang Binh District Tax Department with similar content.

On August 21, 2024, the Quang Nam Provincial Tax Department also sent an official dispatch to the Provincial Police and the Department of Information and Communications regarding the subject forging tax authority documents to request coordination to support the prevention of violations of the law, contributing to creating a healthy and transparent business environment to help businesses facilitate production and business activities and contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.
