Commitment to not trade lobster in Cu Lao Cham in April & May 2025

This is an annual activity organized by the Cu Lao Cham Nature Reserve Management Board in coordination with Tan Hiep Commune Police for facility owners to seriously implement.

By signing the agreement, 10 seafood businesses on the island have committed to not purchasing, storing, transporting, or processing... lobsters from April 1 to May 31, 2025.

It is known that the above period is the lobster breeding season. Protecting wild lobsters at this time aims to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, storage of valuable genetic resources, protection of aquatic resources and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for the community.

With the ecological characteristics of the species and the increasing exploitation of lobsters in the wild, lobsters are one of the endangered and rare aquatic species specified in Appendix II of Decree No. 26, dated March 8, 2019 of the Government detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Fisheries.
