What is SJC gold?

SJC gold is a gold brand produced by Saigon Jewelry Holding Company. SJC gold is a rectangular gold piece, by weight.

On the surface of the SJC gold bar is printed a dragon and 4 number 9 representing 99.99% pure gold. The other side of the gold bar has information and the manufacturing company (SJC). SJC gold bars have more value for storage and investment than for jewelry.

How to distinguish real SJC gold and fake SJC gold

The number of fake SJC gold appearing on the market is only a small number compared to the total volume of SJC gold. However, consumers should still equip themselves with knowledge to avoid buying poor quality products. Below are some characteristics that help distinguish real SJC gold from fake SJC gold with the naked eye:

- On fake gold bars, the letters and dragon image are often blurred and larger than real gold.

- In the SJC letters of fake gold bars, the two hooks of the letter C are close together, at first glance they look very similar to the letter O.

- If you look closely, the number 3 in the 37.5 grams printed on the fake gold piece looks almost like the number 8, the number 5 touches the "heavy" mark of the word "silver" in the row above.

- With fake gold bars, the distance between the dragon's foot and the number 999.9 is very small (only 0.5mm), the dragon's foot almost touches the second number 9. Meanwhile, the dragon's foot in real SJC gold is far from the number 999.9 below (>1.5mm).

- The dragon teeth in real SJC gold do not touch each other, but in fake gold, the teeth touch each other.

- In real SJC gold, the letter "C" in SJC is clear, the two ends do not touch each other, but if it is fake gold, the letter "C" looks distorted, the two ends almost touch each other.

In addition, buyers can distinguish real SJC gold from fake gold with a magnifying glass. When looking through a magnifying glass, the sand background on the letters and dragon body of the real gold piece is smoother than that of the fake gold piece. The stamped numbers on the fake gold are larger than those on the real gold.
