Removal from Party positions of Mr. Le Duc Tho and Mr. Trinh Van Chien

The Party Central Committee decided to take disciplinary action by removing from all Party positions Mr. Le Duc Tho - Secretary of Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Trinh Van Chien - former Secretary of Thanh Hoa.

The 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee opened on the morning of October 2 in Hanoi.

In the morning, the Party Central Committee worked at the Hall.

Before the Conference, the Party Central Committee observed a minute of silence in memory of the unfortunate victims who died due to recent natural disasters and fires, and of the Party Central Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh who recently passed away.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired and delivered the opening speech at the Conference.

Politburo member and President Vo Van Thuong chaired the meeting on behalf of the Politburo.

Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, on behalf of the Politburo, reported on the Program of the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee.

The Party Central Committee decided to take disciplinary action by removing from all Party positions Mr. Le Duc Tho - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Trinh Van Chien - former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party Delegation, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.

The Party Central Committee voted and agreed to let Mr. Dieu K're - Party Central Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee cease to hold the position of Party Central Committee member, 13th tenure.

In the afternoon, the Party Central Committee worked in groups to discuss the socio-economic situation, the state budget in 2023, the plan for 2024, the 3-year state financial-budget plan for 2024-2026 and the roadmap for implementing the new salary regime./.
