Airlines increase night flights during Lunar New Year 2024

Speaking to Lao Dong on the afternoon of January 5, a representative of Vietravel Airlines said that the airline plans to provide 132,000 seats, with domestic flights increasing by more than 35% compared to normal operating schedules. The airline will increase the frequency of the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route by 3 flights per day.

Vietravel Airlines said that as of January 2, 2024, the airline recorded an average occupancy rate of one-way flights of over 89%, of which the Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon / Da Nang route on days close to Tet reached an occupancy rate of over 97%. Some routes with high bookings are Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi / Quy Nhon / Da Nang, Hanoi - Da Nang.

Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines said that for the 2024 Lunar New Year, the airline announced an increase of more than 100,000 seats, equivalent to nearly 550 flights, bringing the total to 2.1 million seats with 10,700 flights for the peak Tet season.

Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that from January 25 to February 24, domestic airlines are expected to operate and provide about 5.5 million tickets across the entire domestic flight network. In addition, the Authority has issued a directive to allow the operation of night flights and ensure traffic safety and order during the peak period of Tet 2024.

Airlines also advise customers that Tet is a time when there are many fraudulent acts selling cheap airline tickets. To avoid losing money and ruining travel plans during this peak season, airlines recommend that customers should check ticket prices on the airlines' official websites in advance to grasp the general price situation and should not buy tickets at online addresses with unusually low prices.

At the same time, during Tet, airports are often congested due to the number of flights and passengers. Therefore, to have the most comfortable journey, the airline encourages passengers to update their flight information regularly and proactively check-in online before arriving at the airport.
