Ministry of Transport appoints Deputy Director of Registration, Secretary of the Minister

This afternoon (July 10), on behalf of the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Transport, the leaders of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang presented the decision to transfer and appoint two important personnel positions.

Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Deputy Director of Vietnam Expressway Administration, was transferred and assigned the task of Secretary of the Minister of Transport.

Mr. Tran Anh Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science - Technology and Environment, was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Vietnam Register.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the Ministry's leadership, congratulating the transferred and appointed officials, Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang emphasized that in order to achieve the goal of making a breakthrough in infrastructure, including transport infrastructure according to the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, the transport sector is facing an extremely large amount of work.

"Comrade Nguyen Viet Cuong is a person with extensive experience in the road sector, a very large sector of the industry, having held many important positions such as: Secretary of the Deputy Minister of Transport, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Expressway Administration.

The selection of you to hold the position of secretary and assistant to the Minister is a "hands-on" and great trust of the Party Committee and the Ministry's leadership.

According to comrade Tran Anh Duong, this is also an official who has held many important positions in state management work," the Deputy Minister said, expressing his expectation that in their new positions, the personnel appointed today will continue to promote their capacity, promote the spirit of solidarity, and together with the collective of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the unit, they will excellently complete the assigned tasks.

"The departments and offices under the Ministry of Transport, directly the Vietnam Register and the Office of the Ministry of Transport, need to continue to coordinate and support comrade Nguyen Viet Cuong and comrade Tran Anh Duong to perform their duties well," the Deputy Minister assigned.

Representing the officials who were mobilized and appointed, expressing gratitude for the trust of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport and the leaders of the Ministry, Mr. Tran Anh Duong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Register, said that this was an honor, but also a great responsibility.

"During the working process, we have received attention and close direction from the Minister, leaders of the Ministry of Transport, and coordination from units.

In the coming time, we hope to continue to receive such attention and cooperation so that together with the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the unit, we can complete our tasks according to the expectations of the Ministry's leaders," said Mr. Duong.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong was born on June 30, 1976, is a master of engineering, road engineer. High level of political theory.

Before being appointed as Secretary of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Cuong had held many positions such as: Deputy Head of Project Management Department 5 then Deputy Head of Project Engineering Department, Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board (2008 - 2014); Secretary of Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong (2014 - 2020); Deputy Director of Public-Private Partnership Department, Ministry of Transport (November 2020 - September 2022); Deputy Director of Vietnam Expressway Administration (October 2022 - July 2024).

Mr. Tran Anh Duong was born on December 11, 1972. He has a Master's degree in Maritime Safety and Environmental Protection. He has a high level of political theory.

Before being appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Vietnam Register, Mr. Duong had held many management positions such as: Deputy Director of the Department of Environment, Ministry of Transport (October 2009 - August 2015); Director of the Department of Environment (September 2015 - September 2022); Deputy Director of the Department of Science - Technology and Environment (October 2022 - July 2024).
