In his opening speech, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee reviewed the difficulties and limitations of e-commerce in the province. Lao Cai has not yet fully exploited the potential and advantages of digital economy, digital transformation associated with border gate economic development, especially cross-border e-commerce connecting the Vietnamese market with the Southwest - China market. The province's e-commerce index is at a low average level compared to the whole country. The Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee expressed its desire for the Ministry of Industry and Trade and related units to consult and support localities to remove bottlenecks, obstacles and perfect policies and mechanisms for e-commerce to develop more strongly.

In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, affirmed that the Ministry is always ready to coordinate and accompany Lao Cai and border localities to focus on solutions, remove difficulties in management policies and promote e-commerce development. The Ministry of Industry and Trade requested the People's Committee of Lao Cai province to continue to focus on promoting the application of digital technology, digital transformation, investment, development of logistics infrastructure, warehouses, electronic payments and cross-border e-commerce.

The conference also listened to many presentations on solutions to promote cross-border e-commerce cooperation at the Kim Thanh - Bac Son border gate, customs mechanisms for e-commerce, logistics solutions to help improve product consumption efficiency, and new technology trends in online marketing and export.
