"To create an atmosphere and space to experience Tet, the district will organize a variety of spring festivals, entertainment activities in the district, in the villages... to meet the needs of enjoyment and spring of the people and also be an attractive destination for tourists' spring travel journey" - Mr. Vi Ngoc Nhat, Head of the district's Department of Culture and Information said.
Coming to Binh Lieu from December, visitors can feel the Tet atmosphere close to every Dao house, on the early blooming peach blossoms. Perhaps the thing that many visitors are most interested in learning about and immersing themselves in is the Dao Tet, a festival and unique cultural feature in Binh Lieu. The Dao people here celebrate Tet from December 15 to January 15 of the new year. During the whole month of Tet, the Dao people take turns celebrating Tet with each family in the clan. The busiest time is from December 20 to January 15. The Tet atmosphere and colors will be bustling throughout the alleys and villages of the Dao people.
Each ethnic community in Binh Lieu has its own New Year customs. This is the piece that makes up the unique traditional Tet cultural picture in the border area. The Tay people in Binh Lieu often hold Then rituals to pray for blessings and peace at the beginning of the year and thanksgiving ceremonies at the end of the year. In addition to enjoying the traditional cultural space, people and tourists also have the opportunity to participate in folk games... organized at the village and commune levels.
Tet is also the time when Binh Lieu organizes many traditional festivals. The biggest and most anticipated festival is Luc Na Communal House Festival, held annually from January 15-17 every year. Next, the Palm Wave Festival of the San Chi people is held annually on 16th March lunar calendar. The festival will be reenacting some folk games and spiritual rituals. Not only that, this year is a special occasion when the Wind Abstinence Festival will be held on April 30 - May 1 in conjunction with the ceremony to announce the wind abstinence custom of the Thanh Phan Dao people as a national intangible cultural heritage. The festival is an opportunity for visitors to enjoy performances Pa Dung singing, excerpts from the Thanh Phan Dao wedding, excerpts from the Dao's initiation ceremony, Then singing and dancing... of the ethnic groups in Binh Lieu.
On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025 this year, Binh Lieu has announced and will organize about 30 special cultural and sports activities in all 7 communes and towns of the district. These activities will take place before, during and after Lunar New Year 2025. In particular, the district will restore and organize the Vo Ngai Communal House Festival on January 5-6.
It is known that, in order to serve tourists during the festival and Tet holiday, Binh Lieu has also mobilized and encouraged the opening and maintenance of food and accommodation services during Tet. Currently, the district has announced a list of 14 accommodation establishments including hotels, motels, homestays and 6 restaurants and eateries serving tourists during Tet.
