(PLVN) - On the morning of September 3, at the Binh Dinh Provincial Convention Center, the Workshop “Tourism, Cinema and Sports: Creating the future – a long journey together” took place. Within the framework of the event, there was also a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Binh Dinh Province and film producers with filming locations in Binh Dinh.
It is known that this Workshop is one of the key contents of the Program "Tourism, Cinema and Sports - Proud of Vietnamese Identity" to promote the combined strength, potential and advantages of businesses - investors, localities - tourist destinations, film producers and people working in the field of physical education and sports in linking together for development, contributing to honoring, promoting tourism and exporting Vietnamese culture abroad.

According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, the workshop “Tourism, Cinema and Sports: Creating the future – a long journey together” will be a forum, a bridge for businesses, managers and people working in cinema, tourism and sports to meet, have a more comprehensive and profound view of the potential, strengths and expectations for tourism development and exchange and propose more effective solutions to combine tourism, cinema and sports, strongly promoting the image of national tourism, promoting Vietnam's tourist destinations in general.
Through this, the Organizing Committee also hopes that the Workshop will open up many opportunities for cooperation and joint ventures between localities, between sports and tourism, tourism and cinema and sports and cinema to develop together in a sustainable way, "create the future", and exploit more effectively the tourism potential of destinations in many localities across the country, including Binh Dinh province.

The workshop took place with 2 main working sessions: "Tourism, Cinema and Sports: Creating the future - long-term journey together" and "Practice of cooperation in Tourism, Cinema and Sports" with many suggestions and proposals to competent authorities for practical initiatives and solutions to focus on better implementing the work of building preferential policies, encouraging, creating favorable conditions to promote, closely linking promotion, as well as creating sustainable development for Vietnam's tourism, cinema and sports to reach higher and further in the future.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said: With the potential, strengths and orientation of tourism development in recent times, along with the support and facilitation of central ministries, departments and branches (especially the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the companionship of the tourism service business community, Binh Dinh has gradually become one of the attractive tourist destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.
In the first 8 months of 2024, the number of tourists to Binh Dinh province is estimated to reach over 7,577,160, an increase of 94.4% over the same period in 2023, (international visitors: 55,830). Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh tourism brand has gradually affirmed its position, being one of three tourist cities in Vietnam to receive the "ASEAN Clean Tourist City 2024" award for the second time.
According to Mr. Lam Hai Giang, although Binh Dinh has not made many marks in the field of cinema, its potential and room for exploitation are still very large with many film settings and many film scripts waiting for producers, directors, and screenwriters to explore to create good and attractive film works about a land rich in cultural and historical traditions with beautiful natural landscapes, martial arts-loving, friendly, and hospitable people.

"The organization of the workshop "Tourism, Cinema and Sports: Creating the Future - Long-term Journey Together" today will help us better understand the importance and necessity of linking tourism with cinema and sports. In other words, in some ways, films and sports activities will contribute to promoting extremely effective tourist destinations, creating impressions, promoting exploration for tourists about the land and people with the context in the film. At the same time, this is also a great opportunity for Binh Dinh to meet, exchange, and receive important opinions from researchers, experts, managers and practitioners. From there, there will be cooperation programs through specific projects to exploit and develop together", added Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang.
Within the framework of the program, delegates attending the workshop also witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Binh Dinh province and film producers with filming locations in Binh Dinh.
