Honoring outstanding ethnic minority teachers and students

Thai Nguyen has nearly 400,000 ethnic minorities, equivalent to nearly 30% of the population. In addition to investing in infrastructure and taking care of people's spiritual lives, the province also pays attention to implementing policies to support, develop education and training for ethnic minority children.

Specifically, the province has invested hundreds of billions of VND to expand and increase the enrollment scale of boarding schools. In addition, the province has also focused on investing in purchasing, repairing, and upgrading 10 ethnic minority boarding schools with a total implementation cost of over 26 billion VND over the past 5 years.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the Thai Nguyen Education and Training sector achieved many remarkable results, including significant contributions from teachers and students of ethnic minorities in the area. In addition to winning prizes in national and provincial competitions for excellent students, students also actively participated in cultural and artistic activities, physical education and sports, youth movements, and social activities in the locality.

At the conference, Thai Nguyen province awarded Certificates of Merit to 21 teachers and 107 students of ethnic minorities with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year. This is to motivate students, teachers, and educational managers of ethnic minorities with many achievements in teaching and managing the education sector in the province; contributing to nurturing talents, creating high-quality human resources of ethnic minorities to develop the socio-economy of ethnic minority and mountainous areas of the province in the coming time.

Thai Nguyen province has determined that in the coming time, it will continue to strengthen and improve the quality of universal education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas at all levels. In particular, it strives for at least 8% of ethnic minority students to study at Ethnic Boarding Schools, the rate of mobilizing 5-year-old preschool children to go to school is 100%, the rate of children aged 6 to 10 years old going to school is 99% or more, the rate of students aged 11 to 14 years old going to school is 99% or more, the rate of students aged 15 to 17 years old going to school is 90% or more...
