On the evening of November 21, at Ho Chi Minh City Television, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Tuoi Tre Newspaper jointly organized the “Tiep suc den truong” scholarship awarding ceremony. Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee attended.

The Organizing Committee awarded 138 scholarships, worth more than 2 billion VND, to new students in difficult circumstances from 7 provinces and cities in the Southeast region; at the same time, summarized the "Support to School" scholarship program in 2023.

The program also awarded scholarships to 106 new students from other provinces and cities such as Nghe An, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Nha Trang... who are studying in Ho Chi Minh City and have not had the opportunity to attend the program in their hometown.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc praised the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Tuoi Tre Newspaper and philanthropists for their attention to organizing and caring for the young generation, helping new students who are the future of the country to go to school. Comrade Duong Anh Duc said that sustainable poverty reduction is an important political task that the entire political system and government are determined to carry out. Not only caring about the food and clothing of the people, the Ho Chi Minh City government also has many policies to promote social participation in promoting learning and talent.

On this occasion, comrade Duong Anh Duc also requested that the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union continue to listen, share, and help students in difficulty, focusing on coordinating with units to have capital sources to help students borrow money to study and start a business, not allowing any young person to drop out of school due to poverty.

Mr. Le The Chu, Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper - the program organizer, said that, established in 1988, after 35 years of operation with many different names such as "Supporting to go to school", "Sowing seeds of knowledge", "Helping friends overcome difficulties", "Bright spot of the medical industry"... the program has carried out 578 activities with a total value of more than 407 billion VND, giving more than 71,305 students to go to school.

The 2023 "Support to School" scholarship program organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper will spend 19 billion VND (15 million VND/scholarship and 20 special scholarships of 50 million VND/4 school years) to award to more than 1,200 new students in difficult circumstances across the country.
