Ho Chi Minh City Mental Hospital (facility 1 on Vo Van Kiet Street, Ward 1, District 5) has been completely repainted. However, with a small area of only 1,700m², the hospital is often overloaded - Photo: XUAN MAI
Different from the old state, with many ugly peeling walls a few months ago, it was noted that Ho Chi Minh City Mental Hospital (facility 1 on Vo Van Kiet Street, District 5) had its entire walls painted and tiled with new tiles at noon on March 11.
At the hospital pharmacy, patients lined up to receive their medicine. At times, it was so crowded that many patients and their relatives sat on the stairs.
Inside the clinics, doctors are constantly seeing patients with mental health problems.
Some patients and relatives expressed satisfaction with the hospital's exterior renovation, however, the area is still cramped, with few clinics and pharmacies, so waiting times are still long.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong has just sent an urgent document to the City People's Committee regarding the inspection, urging the implementation of tasks and resolving recommendations, removing difficulties and obstacles of health agencies and units.
In particular, he recommended that the City People's Committee soon consider and approve the project to build a new Mental Hospital (Tan Phu Ward, Thu Duc City) and Orthopedic Trauma Hospital (Tan Kien Medical Area, Binh Chanh District) because these facilities have been overloaded and degraded for many years.
Images of Ho Chi Minh City Mental Hospital, newly painted and before:
Many patients and their families sat along the stairs while waiting to get their medicine because of the limited space.
The hospital has been paved with new, flat tiles. The floor no longer has high and low spots like a few months ago.
Many times, the hospital is overloaded with patients waiting to receive medicine.
The image of the floor in some places low and some places high in the waiting area of the Mental Hospital was taken in August 2022. The facilities are degraded, seriously affecting the treatment work.
