Pepper prices today, March 27, 2025, in the domestic market suddenly increased sharply in key localities, trading from 159,000 - 160,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 159,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (159,000 VND/kg); Dak Lak (160,000 VND/kg); Dak Nong (160,000 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (159,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (159,000 VND/kg).
Thus, pepper prices today suddenly increased sharply in key growing areas, an increase of 3,000 VND/kg. The highest pepper price increased to the important threshold of 160,000 VND/kg.
The domestic market is stable at a high level. Major pepper growing areas in the Central Highlands are entering the final stages of the harvest season, with guaranteed output. At the same time, export enterprises continue to increase purchases to meet orders from Europe and the US.
In the short term, domestic pepper prices are expected to remain stable at a high level, with the possibility of a slight increase due to large export demand. In the international market, pepper prices may continue to increase, especially black pepper which is popular in major markets.
According to a report from Ptexim - a company specializing in exporting pepper and spices in Vietnam, the pepper harvest in the Central Highlands and Southern provinces is taking place vigorously. Dak Nong has harvested about 70% of the area, Dak Lak reached 40%, Lam Dong reached 60%, while provinces such as Gia Lai, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau harvested around 50%. Although more than half of the crop has been completed, many farmers are still holding on to their products and are not in a hurry to sell them because they expect higher values.
In the world market, according to the International Pepper Community, the price of black and white pepper in the Indonesian market continues to fall. The price of black pepper decreased by 0.36%, fluctuating around 7,241 USD/ton (equivalent to 186,818 VND/kg). Purchased at a price 1.37% lower, the price of white pepper was announced at 10,069 USD/ton (equivalent to 259,781 VND/kg).
For the Brazilian market, the price of black pepper ASTA 570 remains at 7,000 USD/ton.
In the Malaysian market, ASTA black and white pepper prices are anchored at USD 9,900/ton and USD 12,400/ton, respectively.
Notably, in Vietnam, the export price of black pepper has been moving sideways. The 500 g/l type is trading at 7,100 USD/ton (equivalent to 183,180 VND/kg); the 550 g/l type is currently at 7,300 USD/ton (equivalent to 188,340 VND/kg). Similarly, the export price of white pepper has also increased to 10,100 USD/ton (equivalent to 260,580 VND/kg).
In the Indian market, pepper prices continued to remain unchanged for most types of pepper. Garbled pepper was priced at 67,200 rupees per quintal (equivalent to 208,609 VND/kg), Ungarbled pepper was listed at 65,200 rupees per quintal, while the lowest price for gram/liter pepper was 64,200 rupees per quintal (equivalent to 199,297 VND/kg).
