Wild monkeys attacked many people caught

On the afternoon of October 2, news from the Mobile Police Department of Vinh Long Province Police said that the unit had captured a wild monkey that attacked and injured many people in Phu Duc Commune, Long Ho District.

A wild monkey was discovered on the roof of a factory in Hoa Phu Industrial Park.

Previously, on September 28, people in Phu Duc commune discovered a wild monkey entering a household’s rice drying kiln. After that, the monkey attacked and injured 7 local people before leaving for another place.

Upon receiving the report, Long Ho District Police coordinated with the Mobile Police Department of Vinh Long Provincial Police to isolate, search for, and handle the wild monkey.

Through surveillance, at around 5 p.m. on October 2, the police discovered the monkey on the roof of a warehouse of a company in Hoa Phu Industrial Park (Hoa Phu Commune, Long Ho District) and proceeded to capture it. After nearly 4 hours of pursuit, the police used a tranquilizer gun to shoot and then capture the monkey.

A mobile police officer said that this monkey weighed 10 kg, was male, was very aggressive, and attacked strangers when approached. During the process of moving to the cage, the wild monkey died.
