Barca could be disqualified for using illegal players

On the morning of March 28 (Vietnam time), Barca had a make-up match of round 27 of the Spanish Championship (La Liga). The top team with high form easily won Osasuna 3-0 thanks to goals from Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Lewandowski.

This victory helped Barca gain 63 points and create a 3-point gap with Real Madrid. However, Barca is facing the risk of losing points from this victory. The reason is that coach Hansi Flick used center-back Inigo Martinez from the beginning of the match.

Inigo Martinez was called up to the Spanish national team for the recent FIFA Days. However, he withdrew due to a knee injury. According to FIFA regulations, when a player withdraws due to injury, he cannot play for his club within 5 days of his last national team match.

Spain played the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals against the Netherlands on March 24, just four days before Inigo Martinez played for Barca. That is why Osasuna decided to consider filing a complaint. If Inigo Martinez was used illegally, Barca could be awarded a 3-0 loss and lose points.

However, according to BeIN Sport , there is still a case where coach Hansi Flick's team can avoid trouble. That is when Barca is approved by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to use a player who has withdrawn from the national team.

Currently, the relevant parties have not released any official information. However, Barcelona is said to be very confident that they will not be penalized.
