The latest news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on the afternoon of September 2, Typhoon Yagi was active in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 8, gusting to level 11. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move in a West-Northwest direction, traveling about 20km per hour.
To proactively respond to the storm's developments, on the afternoon of September 2, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep signed and issued a telegram to ministries, branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Phu Yen, requesting them to focus on implementing response measures.
The key task in the coming hours is to closely monitor the developments of Typhoon Yagi. Closely manage vessels going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of vessels and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested ministries, branches and localities to strengthen measures to inform authorities at all levels, owners of vessels operating at sea and people about the storm's developments so that they can proactively prevent and respond. At the same time, forces and means must be ready for rescue when required.
