Construction Newspaper judges the final round of the writing contest on 'Green Buildings in Vietnam'

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Editor-in-Chief of Construction Newspaper, Chairman of the Judging Council, said: “When I was assigned by the leaders of the Ministry of Construction to organize the press contest on Green Buildings in Vietnam, I realized that this is a special contest. This contest not only creates press works with great influence but also guides public opinion, contributing to the development of many urban areas and green buildings in line with the trend of international integration”.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung also emphasized: “Writing about green buildings is not simple, because each green building must meet many criteria set by the Ministry of Construction. Therefore, the entries need to adhere to these criteria, combining journalistic quality and high scientific accuracy, in order to convey the message and orientation of the construction industry to domestic and foreign investors.”

The Editor-in-Chief of Construction Newspaper also requested the Organizing Committee to work effectively, impartially and seriously to find the best works to honor at the upcoming Green Building Week in Hanoi.

During the launch period from August 7, 2024 to September 20, 2024, the contest attracted many articles and series of articles from many authors, most of which met the rules. Many high-quality articles, demonstrating elaborate investment and rich content from policies to practices, attracted the participation of press agencies such as: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Lao Dong Newspaper, Vietnam Law Newspaper, Investment Newspaper, World and Vietnam Newspaper... and many other specialized magazines. The preliminary council independently assessed and selected 20 qualified works to advance to the final round.

Representative of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee (Vietnam Journalists Association) highly appreciated the Green Building Writing Contest organized by the Construction Newspaper and emphasized that this is one of the highly specialized awards. Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan emphasized: Although the organization time is short, the Organizing Committee has received many quality entries, showing the great influence of the award and the increasing interest from not only newspapers in the construction industry but also from other press agencies.

The Vietnam Journalists Association recommends that Construction Newspaper continue to maintain and expand the contest to promote and disseminate green buildings, green projects and sustainable development strategies of ministries, branches and the Government...

The award ceremony is expected to take place during the plenary session of Vietnam Green Building Week 2024, organized by the Ministry of Construction in Hanoi on October 4, 2024.
