According to QQ, producer Duong Sieu Hong recently revealed the health status of actor Kim Sieu Quan - the most classic Bao Thanh Thien in the series.
After his brain tumor surgery in 2017, Kim Sieu Quan lived a private life, enjoying his old age at home with his wife. He did not meet or communicate with anyone, including close colleagues.
Producer Yang Chaohong repeatedly sought out "Bao Zheng" to reunite with Fan Hongxian and He Jiajing (the two actors who played Gongsun Ce and Zhan Zhao respectively), but he refused.
Actor Kim Sieu Quan has many illnesses and is in a nursing home.
"Even we in the industry cannot meet him, let alone the information in the media. I only know about his situation through Cong Ton Sach Pham Hong Hien. They occasionally talk together. Pham Hong Hien is a rare colleague that he allows into his home," Duong Sieu Hong said.
The last time Kim Sieu Quan was photographed by the press was at the funeral of director Trinh Thieu Phong in Taiwan. He had to use a cane and had difficulty walking due to old age and poor health.
"My health has deteriorated. I just struggled to see you off," he told ET Today.
Kim Sieu Quan suffered from many illnesses in his old age, including high blood pressure, blood sugar disorders, obesity, and sleep apnea. In 2017, he had brain tumor surgery and his health declined.
Kim Sieu Quan was born in 1951. He is famous for his role as Bao Thanh Thien and is considered the most famous Bao Cong on screen. He portrayed the integrity and uprightness of a famous official in history. The most famous films include Bao Cong judging Guo Hoe (the case of the lynx swapping the crown prince), Bao Cong judging Chen Shimei...
The actor once said in an interview that he had to gain weight to play the role of Bao Gong. But because gaining weight caused him many illnesses, he is currently unable to lose weight.
Currently, Kim Sieu Quan is enjoying his old age with his wife, Tran Ky, the actress who played the role of Concubine Pang in the Bao Cong series. They have no children.
