Militia and self-defense forces report their achievements to Uncle Ho on Traditional Day

Kinhtedothi - On the morning of March 25, the Ministry of National Defense coordinated and directed the Hanoi Capital Command to organize a ceremony to report achievements to Uncle Ho at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Militia and Self-Defense Forces' Traditional Day (March 28, 1935 - March 28, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Hanoi Capital High Command; Major General Dao Van Nhan - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, Hanoi Capital High Command and representatives of the Ministry of National Defense.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation of the Hanoi Capital Command respectfully presented to Uncle Ho their outstanding achievements and feats.

According to Major General Dao Van Nhan - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, Hanoi Capital Command, over the past 90 years, together with the militia and self-defense forces of the whole country, the Capital militia and self-defense forces under the leadership of the City Party Committee and the Resistance Committee have developed rapidly, truly being the core force protecting the rallies and demonstrations of the revolutionary masses; protecting the Party's leadership agencies; being the shock force together with the main force and local troops in attacking and destroying the enemy, and taking power into the hands of the revolution in the Capital.

Implementing the Party's guidelines and policies on building the people's armed forces and building a national defense, in recent years, with political determination, the Hanoi Capital Command has advised the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee to take care of building an increasingly "strong and widespread" militia and self-defense force. Along with that, effectively implementing programs and projects, especially Program No. 09-CTr/TU of the City Party Committee (term XVII) on "Strengthening national defense and security potential, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the city for the period 2021-2025".

Up to now, the whole city of Hanoi has organized over 1,594 militia bases with nearly 100,000 comrades, the party membership rate is over 22.9%, established 10 platoons, 156 permanent militia squads, of which 100% of the communes, wards and towns with key national defense have permanent militia squads.

Promoting the tradition of the heroic unit of the People's Armed Forces, officers and soldiers of the Capital's militia and self-defense force have proactively and actively coordinated with forces to ensure political security and social order and safety in the area; being the core force in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, searching and rescuing...

Over 90 years of building, fighting and growing, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam People's Militia and Self-Defense Force in general and the Capital People's Militia and Self-Defense Force in particular have always been united, united, and loyal to the Fatherland, the People, and the Party's revolutionary cause.

Over the revolutionary periods, over 370 groups and 284 individuals have been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State. In 2015, the Vietnam Militia and Self-Defense Force was awarded the Gold Star Order by the President.

To successfully complete the mission, contributing to bringing the country into a new era, before the spirit of Uncle Ho, the cadres and soldiers of the Capital's armed forces promise that, in any conditions or circumstances, the cadres and soldiers of the standing forces and the Capital's militia and self-defense forces will remain absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; constantly raise revolutionary vigilance, sharpen fighting spirit; voluntarily cultivate and practice revolutionary ethics; protect the Party, the State, the People and the socialist regime.
