Quang Ninh Museum is not only a typical model in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage but also becomes an attractive destination for tourists, making an important contribution to the development of tourism and cultural industry of Quang Ninh.

In the cultural industries, the fields of fine arts, photography, exhibitions, and advertising have made a difference with typical works of architecture and fine arts. Quang Ninh Museum is a unique architectural and artistic work, leaving a deep impression on visitors with 3 floors displaying tens of thousands of artifacts and documents, including national treasures according to each theme.
Over the years, Quang Ninh Museum has made constant efforts and developments in organizing thematic exhibitions, making an important contribution to preserving and promoting cultural values. From 2020 to present, the Museum has organized 19 thematic exhibitions. After the Covid-19 period, the number of exhibitions has increased steadily, each year higher than the previous year. In 2023 alone, the Museum organized 6 thematic exhibitions. Exhibitions are often organized according to specific themes, helping visitors better understand the history of the land and people of Quang Ninh.
In addition to exhibiting artifacts and antiques, the Museum is also an ideal space to organize art exhibitions. At the training course "Literature and art for the development of cultural industry in Vietnam: The role of creative criticism and promotion" held in Ha Long, art researcher Phan Cam Thuong assessed Quang Ninh as one of the leading provinces in exhibition activities, because it has typical works of architecture and art such as the Museum with unique architectural space. Quang Ninh can organize international exhibitions, attracting world famous figures to create and exhibit. Other places that want to do that must also have good infrastructure with museum space, exhibition space like Quang Ninh to be able to organize. Thanks to these works, more tourists will come, and the local image will also be promoted more widely.
Quang Ninh Museum has been attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists each year and is one of the few museums in the country that is financially self-sufficient in regular spending. In 2019, the total number of visitors to the Museum reached more than 367,000, with total revenue from ticket sales of more than 10 billion VND. Despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2022, the Museum still had ticket sales revenue of more than 16 billion VND. In 2023, the Museum collected admission fees through ticket sales of more than 13 billion VND.
In 2024, Quang Ninh Museum will have the highest number of visitors during the summer. Since the beginning of the year, it has welcomed over 650,000 visitors, including about 19,000 international visitors. Revenue from ticket sales reached over VND 19.2 billion, an increase of nearly 5% over the same period in 2023. The museum can be considered a typical model for preserving cultural heritage values, effectively exploiting comparative advantages in culture in the socio-economic development of the locality. From September 30, after efforts to recover from the consequences of storm No. 3, Quang Ninh Museum will reopen to welcome visitors.
In order to continuously increase its appeal, Quang Ninh Museum has actively collected thousands of artifacts for display, adjusted the exhibition spaces, and effectively applied digital technology to bring visitors a new and multi-dimensional experience. The application of virtual museum has made the entire real space of the museum modeled in 3D virtual space so that internet users can visit remotely, contributing to widely promoting to visitors, especially foreign visitors.

In the coming time, Quang Ninh Museum will continue to make efforts to build cultural experience models, linking cultural heritage with socio-economic development, awakening heritage values, turning heritage into tourism assets, turning culture into commodities, contributing to improving the quality of activities and position of provincial cultural institutions, further promoting the role in building and developing culture and people of Quang Ninh, meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the country.
