The Ho Chi Minh City Press Awards are held annually to celebrate the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21. They are one of the major events of the city's press community to honor authors, groups of authors, and excellent works with quality in ideology, politics, serving people's lives, highlighting solutions to promote socio-economic development and many other fields with attractive and convincing content and forms of expression.
Up to now, this is the 41st season, with the social effectiveness achieved, the press and public opinion consider this a useful activity, of high value and very worthy of respect, so the number of works participating in the competition is increasing, the quality is getting higher and higher, the influence in society is getting bigger and bigger.
The 41st Ho Chi Minh City Press Award with the theme "Improving the efficiency of public service activities, promoting administrative reform and improving the investment environment; promoting economic development, ensuring social security" received 279 works in the preliminary round from 18 press units, 184 works were selected for the final round.
The final results included 5 First Prizes, 14 Second Prizes, 21 Third Prizes and 25 Encouragement Prizes spread across 4 types of journalism: print, electronic, radio and television, with 5 groups of genres including: Group 1: News, press photos; Group 2: Political commentary; Group 3: Documentaries, reports, investigations, journalistic reports; Group 4: Interviews, reports, quick notes; Group 5: Collective works such as thematic pages in print, electronic newspapers, radio programs, television programs.
According to the jury, the press works participating in the award closely followed the theme of the award, truthfully reflecting the economic, political, cultural, social and other fields; the implementation and implementation of resolutions of party congresses at all levels into life; clearly reflecting the solidarity to overcome difficulties, promote sustainable economic development and build a civilized and happy society; promoting the construction of Ho Chi Minh City towards a smart, dynamic, creative, humane and affectionate city; a city with more and more advanced models, good people, good deeds, cultural families... In particular, there were press works promoting the implementation of Resolution 31-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of Ho Chi Minh City's development to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Most of the entries to this year's competition were highly appreciated by the jury for their content quality and presentation. Many series of articles, series of articles, and photo reports were of good quality, with strategic vision and in-depth exploitation; focusing on objective, truthful, and comprehensive reflection of the situation of the city and the whole country, associated with breakthroughs for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development; vividly reflecting the efforts of the entire political system in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, the Government's management, the Party Committee and the city's administration, praising new factors, typical and advanced examples...
There are many works that explore and create in the patriotic emulation movement, emulation to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; at the same time, promote production and labor movements, and encourage the task of building and defending the Fatherland.
It can be affirmed that the works submitted for the award are relatively uniform in quality, diverse and convincing in form; many outstanding works have creative content and form of expression, bringing good effects, spreading widely in society such as: Controlling power, personnel work and the fight against corruption and negativity; Resolution 31 - "Golden Key"; Television program to celebrate the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2022) ; Vietnam 2022: Impressive images ; Exposing fake VietGAP vegetables ...
Many journalistic works are elaborately invested, showing sharpness in writing, rich presentation, easy to read and easy to feel. Many works create good impressions, have clear orientation of public opinion, are highly convincing in implementing the Resolution of Party Congresses at all levels; solidarity in developing production, business, caring for people's lives; implementing the construction of a smart, creative city with good quality of life; propaganda on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation...
Also on this occasion, the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee commended and awarded 13 press works with content and expression that brought good social effects on the construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City in the past year from 12 central press agencies located in the city.
