Nhan Dan Newspaper celebrates 73 years since its first issue

Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association spoke at the ceremony.

Nhan Dan Newspaper is the Central organ of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the voice of the Party, the State and the people of Vietnam, under the direct and regular leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the political and ideological flag of the Party on the press front; a bridge between the Party, the State and the people.

Implementing the Resolution of the Second National Party Congress (February 1951) on "publishing a newspaper, named Nhan Dan, the Central organ of the Party" to replace Su That, on March 11, 1951, in the middle of the mountains and forests of the Viet Bac resistance base, Nhan Dan Newspaper published its first issue.

Since then, over 73 years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has continuously grown, always associated with the glorious revolutionary history of the nation, with the glorious fighting history of our Party.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association sent his best wishes to all officers and employees of the agency on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the newspaper's first issue.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized that March 11 is an important day for everyone working at Nhan Dan Newspaper, so that everyone can recall history and remember the great contributions of veteran journalists, cadres and employees who have contributed to the development of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

He expressed his joy that the long-lasting traditions and noble mission of Nhan Dan Newspaper continue to be demonstrated through innovation and creativity, showing that Nhan Dan Newspaper is always at the forefront in all circumstances.

“Nhan Dan Newspaper has been carrying out the task of propagating the Party’s policies, guidelines, and orientations to become closer to readers and listeners. With the first steps in digital transformation, Nhan Dan Newspaper is considered a bold innovation unit. We see that spirit of innovation in all units from content, technology, engineering, office, publishing units as well as many other units… domestically and internationally.

We see the dynamism, creativity and determination of our staff in the way they do journalism, with close coordination and direction from specialized departments and resident agencies across the country," said Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh.

Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh awarded Certificates of Merit from the Head of the Emulation Bloc of Central Party Agencies to collectives and individuals.

Commenting that 2024 will be an exciting year for Nhan Dan Newspaper, comrade Le Quoc Minh said that in the near future, Nhan Dan Newspaper will have a series of media projects such as building specialized pages on the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's page, National Brand page... At the same time, Nhan Dan Newspaper is also preparing for media campaigns at the end of the year such as: Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 2024); People's Army Founding Day (December 2024).

He also hopes that in major national press activities, the presence of Nhan Dan Newspaper will be clearest and most effective and truly be the eldest brother in the press, demonstrating the leading role of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

In addition to the actively implemented information activities, the activities of returning to the source are being strongly promoted. On March 12, Nhan Dan Newspaper will launch the groundbreaking ceremony to restore the relic of Nhan Dan Newspaper in Thai Nguyen. Thus, along with the inauguration of the Tuyen Quang Stele House area in 2023, the two most important relics of Nhan Dan Newspaper have been repaired to become more spacious and beautiful, which will be a place for young reporters and editors to return to the source, remembering the glorious historical tradition of the newspaper.

On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the first issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper, which has developed with many milestones and achievements, comrade Le Quoc Minh believes that with the solidarity of Nhan Dan Newspaper staff, the following years will certainly be even more successful.

At the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh also awarded Certificates of Merit from the Head of the Emulation Block of Central Party Agencies to collectives and individuals of Nhan Dan Newspaper; awarded Commemorative Medals for the Cause of Nhan Dan Newspaper to individuals who are officers and employees of the newspaper.
