Tuan Hai played very well in the second leg of the final in Thailand.

CNN Indonesia also listed some interesting records that the Vietnamese team has set. Specifically, the channel pointed out that the "Golden Star Warriors" are experts at "breaking the streak" when they continuously prevented their opponents from reaching the AFF Cup championship mark for 3 consecutive times. The "victims" of the Vietnamese team were Singapore (2008) and Thailand (2018, 2024). In addition, the Vietnamese team is the second team after Singapore to defeat Thailand in 2 finals. In this tournament, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team had the best goal difference in the tournament (+14).

Football fans in the region also gave much praise to the Vietnamese team for their tenacious fighting spirit. Supachok Sarachat's controversial goal frustrated the Golden Star Warriors, but Quang Hai and his teammates still stood strong. In the end, the Vietnamese team defeated Thailand in both final matches. Overall, the Vietnamese team won the hearts of football fans as well as the media in Southeast Asia.

On the other hand, the Thai team received a lot of criticism. A series of mistakes by coach Masatada Ishii and his team were dissected. Siamsport , the leading prestigious sports newspaper in the land of golden temples, had an article analyzing the reasons why the "War Elephants" lost. Siamsport said that the home team's defense was too weak and this was a serious problem. At the 2024 AFF Cup, the Thai team conceded 12 goals, which was also the first time they conceded more than 10 goals in the history of the tournament. Notably, many of the goals conceded came from individual mistakes.

Siamsport commented: "Supachok's goal should not have happened". The newspaper analyzed: "Supachok should have returned the ball to goalkeeper Dinh Trieu. He did not break the rules, but it was an unsportsmanlike act. Not only did it go against the spirit of martial arts, this goal also made the Vietnamese team angry and play with greater enthusiasm". Finally, Siamsport commented: "Coach Masatada Ishii made many wrong substitution decisions. For example, Ben Davis played well, putting a lot of pressure on the Vietnamese defense, but was replaced early to make way for Ratree, a player who did not play very effectively. Meanwhile, Worachit entered the field but did not show anything".
