Mr. Nguyen Van Dat, an officer of the Social Work Department, Bach Mai Hospital, shared that Hoang's health is now stable and he has been discharged from the hospital for a few days of rest. Hoang is walking and taking care of himself, and will come back for a check-up in about 2 weeks. If his health is good, he will continue with surgery to remove the drainage tube.

Nguyen Bao Hoang is the character in the article "Bach Mai doctor calls for help for 19-year-old boy with serious illness" published by Dan Tri newspaper earlier.

23 years ago, after the divorce, Hoang's mother took her two young daughters to live with her maternal siblings.

In 2005, Bao Hoang was born, and his father's name on his birth certificate was left blank. Since then, he has had his mother's last name and has never heard anyone talk about his father.

In 2019, his mother passed away from liver cancer. Hoang and his two sisters took care of each other, with the love of relatives and neighbors.

Doctor Bui Nhu Khoat, Respiratory Center, Bach Mai Hospital said: "Patient Nguyen Bao Hoang was admitted to the hospital on September 23, 2024 with high fever, severe respiratory failure due to pneumonia and abscess rupture into the pleural cavity, pulmonary artery thrombosis, and when tested, there were Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In addition, the patient also had nephrotic syndrome."
