According to TechRadar , many Windows 11 users are experiencing issues with the KB5031455 preview update, with some systems failing to install and others experiencing issues during installation. Notably, even when the update is installed successfully, it causes error messages and brings issues that affect game performance.

As reported by Windows Latest, some users have complained to the site about the latest Windows 11 update, saying the installation process is experiencing a situation where it runs and fails, then restarts, continues running and fails again.

New Windows 11 update degrades gaming performance

Additionally, another user reported gaming performance issues after installing the update, saying the new build “broke some games.” According to the user, games such as Fortnite and Horizon Zero Dawn from the Epic Games Store were crashing and failing to launch. In response to the report, many users said they were also experiencing similar issues.

This isn't the first time Windows updates have been plagued with problems. Previously, Windows 11 22H2 users also had trouble with build KB5030310 causing File Explorer to crash and slow down.

Windows Latest has tested the update and confirmed that the issues mentioned above are indeed present. If you have not installed the KB5031455 update, you should wait a little longer until the issues are resolved by Microsoft. Or if you have installed it, consider removing the update from your computer to ensure the best performance for Windows 11.
