Bamboo Airways has tightened measures to identify and promptly respond to hazards from short circuits and fires in charging devices containing lithium batteries.
Accordingly, the airline requires passengers to strictly comply with regulations on controlling charging devices containing lithium batteries. Passengers must strictly comply with the regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on controlling items containing lithium batteries issued together with Decision No. 1541/QD-CHK dated September 14, 2021.
These regulations have been updated by Bamboo Airways in the airline's transportation policy, and announced on the airline's official website and at ticket counters and check-in counters at airports.
The airline also recommends that before boarding the plane, passengers should proactively cooperate in removing the power bank from their carry-on luggage. On the plane, passengers must carry the power bank with them or place it in a safe, visible location near the passenger, without obstructing the aisles and emergency exits. Absolutely do not use the power bank or charge electrical devices during the flight.
In case of detecting any abnormal temperature of the power bank or device containing lithium battery on the aircraft, passengers must immediately notify the flight attendant to take necessary and timely response actions to ensure flight safety.
Bamboo Airways is exempted from liability for any inconvenience or loss of passenger baggage (if any) when the airline has to take necessary emergency measures as prescribed to handle incidents related to items containing lithium batteries.
