According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of July 12 to July 13, the mountainous areas of the North, Central Highlands and South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40 mm, in some places over 70 mm (thunderstorms will occur mainly in the evening and at night).

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.

From the evening of July 14-15, the mountainous areas of the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall of 40-70 mm/period, some places over 150 mm/period. The midlands, the Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa will have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-50 mm, some places over 70 mm.

On the afternoon and night of July 14, the Central Highlands and the South will have moderate rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 30-60 mm, and in some places over 80 mm.

Heavy rain in the Central Highlands and the South in the afternoon and evening may continue for many days to come.

Also according to the meteorological agency, currently (July 12), a low pressure trough has formed with an axis at about 14-17 degrees North latitude connecting with the low pressure area in the eastern region of the Philippines.

From the night of July 12, the South China Sea and the eastern sea of ​​the central China Sea will have showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6-7.

On the night of July 12, the sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau had strong southwest winds of level 5. On July 13, the South East Sea (including the sea of ​​Truong Sa island district) and the sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau had strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, rough seas, waves 2-3 m high.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting added that about 2-3 tropical depressions/storms are forecast to operate in the East Sea during the second half of July and early August. Of which, around July 15-20, disturbances in the tropical convergence zone are likely to appear and develop into tropical depressions/storms in the East Sea.
