[Photo] "Spider-Man" brings sweet fruit down the mountain
The pineapple growing area of Muong Khuong is in the harvest season. Pineapples here are often grown in the high mountains, so harvesting and transporting them is extremely difficult and potentially dangerous. During the pineapple harvest season, young men usually take on this job. Carrying more than 100kg of pineapples on their backs, leaning on sticks to grip the steep mountainside, they are no different from "spider men" bending their backs to bring the pineapples down the mountain.

This is one of the trails leading to the pineapple fields that was opened by the locals for easy transportation during each harvest season. Early in the morning, receiving an order to harvest pineapples for the factory, two young men from Ban Lau commune, carrying baskets on their backs and leaning on sticks, climbed the steep mountainside to harvest pineapples. Harvesting in steep mountainous terrain like this is many times more difficult and dangerous than in other pineapple growing areas. Harvesting in this mountainous terrain is mainly done by men. They look like "spider men" clinging to the mountainside to harvest pineapples and transport them to the assembly area. The backs of pineapple men are often hunched from carrying fruit on their backs.
Each person has to carry more than 100kg of pineapple on their back, walking through thorny pineapple fields. There are roads leading to pineapple fields that are only as small as the palm of a hand, but these men still skillfully drive their motorbikes to shorten the distance to the pineapple purchasing place, making the journey less arduous. Sometimes on the road it is inevitable that there will be vehicle related incidents.
Pineapple path. Sweet pineapples arrive at the collection point. Despite the hardship, the highland farmers still work happily, laughter echoing throughout the hills. The good news is that the pineapple price at the beginning of the season is somewhat worthy of the hardship and danger that the farmers have to go through each harvest season.
