Accordingly, the enrollment target of each school is 200 students/5 classes. The enrollment method is through 2 rounds: Profile evaluation and capacity evaluation.
Specifically, the profile score is equal to the total final score of the 3 years of grades 3, 4, 5 divided by 13. Students with a profile score of 8.5 or higher (for students applying to Le Quy Don Secondary School) and 8.0 or higher (for students applying to Ly Tu Trong Secondary School) will be eligible to be selected for round 2 of student capacity assessment.
The competency test for admission to grade 6 of the two schools includes 3 subjects: Math, Vietnamese, English. The admission score is calculated by the total competency test score of 3 subjects plus priority points.

The quota is considered based on the score from high to low until the quota is full. If at the last quota there are many students with the same score, priority will be given in the following order: Student with higher total score of 3 competency assessment subjects; student with higher profile score; student with higher total score at the end of grade 5; student with higher total score at the end of grade 4; student with higher total score at the end of grade 3.
Registration period is from May 21, 2025 to May 22, 2025; capacity assessment test will be held on May 27, 2025 and the list of successful candidates will be announced on June 13, 2025.
Pursuant to current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, guiding documents of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai city issued guiding documents, directed and organized the implementation of enrollment in Le Quy Don Secondary School and Ly Tu Trong Secondary School for the 2025-2026 school year; directed the two schools and related educational institutions to organize enrollment in accordance with regulations, fairly and objectively.
