One of the most popular lifestyles today, loved and aimed at by many young people is “healthy eating” or “eatclean” with the desire to eat healthy and contribute to protecting the environment. Vegetarianism is also a trend loved by young people. This trend is gradually changing the lifestyle of many young people today, not only improving their health but also being an effective way to “take care” of their spirit.

A noticeable change in eating habits

Nowadays, vegetarianism is gradually becoming more popular. As life becomes more developed and modern, young people feel more pressured, so they often tend to be minimalist, maintain the habit of "green living", healthy, through diet instead of choosing regular fast food restaurants.

Eating a purely vegetarian diet, eating fruits, living close to nature, and being environmentally friendly makes many people feel lighter and more relaxed. Not only that, vegetarianism is also considered a spiritual therapy that helps improve mood and reduce the risk of many diseases.

If in the past, the nature of vegetarian dishes was often simply made from pure vegetables, today, many young people have researched and created, processing many new dishes to enhance the flavor of vegetarian dishes.

Many people believe that being a vegetarian will cause the body to lack energy due to the lack of protein from meat, creating a feeling of hunger quickly. However, there are many types of plants that provide protein for the body such as beans: soybeans, green beans, ... green vegetables or grains are all foods that bring high nutritional value.

In addition, the protein content in these plants can be compared or even surpass red meats such as pork and beef. Therefore, a vegetarian diet that is reasonably designed, nutritious and cost-effective is the best choice for young people, especially students.

Y Nhu, currently a second-year student at Hanoi University of Culture, shared: “I learned about vegetarianism through an acquaintance. At first, I only intended to consider it a new experience to “change the wind” in my meals, but over time, I realized that vegetarianism not only helps my body become healthier and improves my endurance, but I also feel more and more energetic and positive.”

Maintain a green lifestyle and eat healthy

Grasping the current vegetarian trend of young people, many restaurants and vegetarian food businesses are increasingly developing, especially restaurants that often focus on the buffet model and have attracted a certain number of customers.

Ms. Le Hoa (owner of a vegetarian buffet restaurant in Hanoi) shared: “In recent years, the vegetarian trend has been increasingly popular, especially among young people who come to the restaurant during lunchtime. Because most of the customers are young people, I focus on changing the menu daily, fresh food, ensuring quality with reasonable prices. In addition, the restaurant space always aims for serenity and peace, so it has attracted many customers to enjoy.”

According to the reporter's observation, at Ms. Le Hoa's buffet shop, the vegetarian dishes that sell well and are loved by everyone are: pho rolls, brown rice, chicken thigh mushrooms, vegetable spring rolls, mushroom soup, vegetarian vermicelli soup...

Ms. Ngoc Ha (33 years old, residing in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) has been a vegetarian for over a year now and said: "I am a person who has a passion for eating, especially meat-related dishes, so there was a time when I could not control my weight. When I had a periodic health check-up at the company, I discovered that I had quite high blood fat and type 1 diabetes. During the period when my health was declining, being a vegetarian was really a solution to help me overcome these worrying problems."

"Since adopting a vegetarian diet, my health has improved significantly and I have lost nearly 6kg. My menu is not too complicated but focuses on salads, vegetables, and fresh fruits. Occasionally, I will diversify my meals with dishes such as vegetarian spring rolls, vermicelli, and vegetarian pho. They are both delicious and nutritious" - Ms. Ngoc Ha shared more.

Compared to the rapid growth of fast food, vegetarian dishes show a "slow but steady" appearance in a time when society is increasingly modern.
