Every year, when Tet comes, medical facilities in the province promote propaganda activities, mobilize social resources, organize many activities to give gifts, and take care of Tet for patients in difficult circumstances who are being treated at medical facilities.

Receiving a gift from Miss Universe Vietnam Bui Thi Xuan Hanh, Ms. Phan Thi Nga (Khanh Phu commune, Yen Khanh district), mother of patient Nguyen Phan Tra My who is being treated at the Emergency Department, Provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, was so moved that she could not speak.

Ms. Nga shared: They had 3 children, 2 of whom were sick: the oldest child, Tra My, 12 years old, had spastic cerebral palsy, level 3 respiratory failure, so she was in the hospital more than at home, the third child was mentally disabled, deaf and mute, only the second child, a boy, was normal. With such conditions, her family only had a husband who worked as a factory worker, taking care of all the family expenses. Ms. Nga had to stay home to take care of the children, going from hospital to home every time her eldest daughter's illness took a turn for the worse.

Ms. Nga confided: Understanding my family's situation, from the local area to the hospital, everyone cares and encourages me. Every Tet holiday, my family receives meaningful gifts from groups and individuals with kind hearts, so I feel cared for, shared, and accompanied by many kind hearts in the arduous journey of caring for and treating my child's illness...

Comrade Nguyen Tien Thao, Head of Social Work Department, Provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital said: Along with performing medical examination and treatment tasks, charity and humanitarian work to organizations and individuals to help poor patients, patients in difficult circumstances... is always promoted by the Provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, the core of which is the activity of the Social Work Department.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the Social Work Department has called on philanthropists, organizations and individuals to share material and spiritual support for patients who are unfortunately suffering from serious illnesses and patients in difficult circumstances, helping them feel secure in their treatment. 70 gifts worth 50 million VND have been visited and given by organizations and individuals to patients in difficult circumstances and patients with serious illnesses who are being treated at the Hospital.

In addition, the Hospital continues to maintain the meal allowance for inpatients during the 3 days of the Lunar New Year at the rate of 50,000 VND/person/day. Ensuring that hospital staff and patients treated during the Lunar New Year can celebrate Tet at the Hospital in a safe and warm atmosphere.

Leaders of the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies presented gifts to patients in difficult circumstances being treated at the Provincial General Hospital.

At the Provincial General Hospital, patients with difficult circumstances and serious illnesses who are being treated at the hospital during the days leading up to the Lunar New Year have been receiving much attention and love from kind-hearted people inside and outside the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bien (in Me town, Gia Vien) is one of hundreds of patients being treated at the Provincial General Hospital who received gifts from the Provincial Social Policy Bank. Receiving the Tet gift, Ms. Bien emotionally said: Tet is coming but I still have to stay in the hospital for treatment at the Internal Medicine - Respiratory Department. My family's situation is already difficult and there is a sick person like me, so the difficulties are compounded. Receiving the gift from the Provincial Social Policy Bank helps me have more money to take care of food expenses during the treatment days. During Tet at the hospital, I also feel warmer because of the affection, care, and sharing of many hearts...

According to statistics from the Nursing - Social Work Department, Provincial General Hospital, many groups and individuals visited and gave Tet gifts to patients such as: The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee gave gifts to 60 poor patients with the amount of 180 million VND; Vietnam Social Security and Provincial Social Security gave 20 gifts, total value of 10 million VND; Provincial Red Cross Society and businesses and philanthropists gave 200 gifts, each gift was 100,000 VND in cash and milk; Venerable Thich Minh Dong of Non Nuoc Pagoda and the Buddhist Association gave 130 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND; Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association gave 30 gifts, each worth 800,000 VND including 500,000 VND in cash and gifts; Provincial branch of the Social Policy Bank gave 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND...

Along with gifts from organizations and individuals with kind hearts, the Provincial General Hospital organized cash support for patients who had to stay in the department for 3 days of Tet with a support level of 50,000 VND/person/day; ensuring food for patients without shelter...

On the occasion of the New Year 2024 (from December 29, 2023 to January 15, 2024), the Ninh Binh Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with philanthropists to organize the program "Giving love to patients, welcoming the new year 2024" at a number of hospitals and medical centers in the province such as: Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital, Provincial General Hospital; Provincial Eye Hospital; Medical Centers of Gia Vien, Hoa Lu, Nho Quan districts...

Through the program, gifts were given to more than 1,000 patients being treated at hospitals and medical centers. The gifts given to patients in the first days of the new year are the most practical and meaningful encouragement from benefactors and the Red Cross at all levels in the province for patients, helping patients to be more optimistic, effectively carry out the treatment process to soon return to their families to celebrate a warm Tet.

The support of society and the community for patients in difficult circumstances and seriously ill patients being treated at hospitals during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin has contributed to easing the physical and mental pain of patients, encouraging them to have more motivation to fight and overcome their illnesses, multiplying the beautiful acts of kind-hearted people in life.
