The national ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) will be solemnly held at 6:30 a.m. on April 30, on Le Duan Street, District 1 and central streets of Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of leaders of the Party, State, central and local departments, branches, and organizations, and a large number of people. The ceremony will include activities such as: Commemorative speeches reviewing the heroic historical traditions of the nation. Parades and marches demonstrating the strength of the armed forces and the spirit of solidarity of the entire nation. Special art programs praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the love for the homeland and the aspiration for peace and reunification. Other activities such as: Organizing exhibitions, displaying documents, images, and artifacts about the historic Victory of April 30, 1975. Organizing scientific seminars and discussions on the historical significance of the Southern Liberation Day and National Reunification Day; activities to show gratitude to heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution...
Provinces and cities across the country will also organize many rich and diverse commemorative activities, suitable to the conditions and characteristics of each locality, such as: rallies, parades, military parades; gratitude activities, visits, gift giving to families with meritorious services, historical education for the younger generation, culture - arts, physical education - sports... Through activities to express deep gratitude for the great sacrifices of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and compatriots and soldiers nationwide who contributed to the historic victory of April 30, 1975. At the same time, educating the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of solidarity and the will to self-reliance for the younger generation; affirming the great historical significance of the Southern Liberation Day, national reunification for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. An Giang - the frontier land at the head of the Fatherland, is eagerly preparing for a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). These meaningful activities not only express deep gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed their blood for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, but are also an opportunity to arouse national pride and educate the younger generation about patriotism. The series of commemorative activities will take place throughout the province, from urban to rural areas, in many rich and diverse forms. An Giang people will relive heroic moments of history through documentary films, special performances praising the Party, Uncle Ho, love for the homeland and the aspiration for peace and reunification.
Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung chaired the unification of the plan to organize activities to celebrate April 30.
According to Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the province will strengthen information and propaganda activities with the theme "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 - The strength of great national unity, the aspiration for peace, national independence and the will to unify the country". Exhibition of An Giang achievements 50 years after the liberation day (scheduled from April 22 to 25, at Trung Nu Vuong Square, Long Xuyen City). Incense and flower offering activities to commemorate heroic martyrs (scheduled on April 24, at the provincial martyrs' cemetery); offering flowers at the statue of President Ton Duc Thang (Trung Nu Vuong Square) and offering incense and flowers at the Memorial Area of President Ton Duc Thang (My Hoa Hung Commune, Long Xuyen City), scheduled on April 24. Organizing visits and giving gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions (from April 20 to 25). Commemorative meeting (scheduled for April 24, at the Provincial Hall); art program (scheduled for the evening of April 25, at Trung Nu Vuong Square).
Along with that, the province organized activities to respond to the celebration, such as: Exhibition of documents and thematic images; screening of documentary films. Launching contests to learn about historical events and traditions; Contest to learn and tell stories about the life, career and ideology of President Ho Chi Minh; organizing mobile art performances; summarizing the Contest to create and promote literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton" in An Giang province, period 2024 - 2025; launching patriotic emulation movements at all levels, sectors, action programs to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress towards the 14th National Party Congress...
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Khanh Hiep said that the unit will advise the Provincial People's Committee on the detailed plan and script for the meeting and art performance program to welcome. At the same time, guide localities and related units to organize welcoming activities suitable to the nature, scale of each event and the local situation and characteristics. Direct affiliated units to organize information, propaganda, visual agitation, cultural - artistic, sports, tourism, exhibition activities... to serve the people.
Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested to focus on propaganda work, in accordance with the direction of the Central and the province. The content and form of propaganda are rich, focused, and highlight the historical significance of major events and holidays of the country and the province. The commemorative activities must be appropriate, practical, and effective, focusing on the grassroots, remote, border, and ethnic minority areas so that people can review together the heroic history of the nation, demonstrating the determination to build An Giang homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized. |
