Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang inspected the progress of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project, the section passing through An Giang province.
Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway contributes to promoting the rapid and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta
On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged the efforts and responsible working spirit of ministries, branches, localities, project management boards, enterprises, construction contractors, supervision consultants; and the team of officers, engineers, workers and laborers directly working at the construction site.
The drastic implementation of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway is of great significance in promoting the rapid and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region, contributing to the overall development of the country. However, the implementation of projects in the Mekong Delta region in general, and the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project in particular, is still slow.
To accelerate the progress of the projects, determined to complete them by July 2026, the Prime Minister requested localities to mobilize the entire political system to participate. Ministries, branches and units must continue to promote a sense of responsibility, be more proactive, more flexible, participate more strongly and resolutely, all for the common cause, not allowing negativity or group interests to occur during the implementation of the projects.
The Prime Minister requested contractors to mobilize maximum machinery, equipment and human resources, apply new science and technology, take advantage of the clearing of landfill materials and favorable weather conditions, focus on construction with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", "going through holidays, Tet, and days off", "only working, not discussing back" to make up for the progress in the past time, determined to complete each job, ensure technical requirements, improve the quality of the project, maintain environmental sanitation; mobilize more contractors with sufficient capacity and construction conditions according to regulations to support construction on schedule and quality.
Local Party committees and authorities in charge of component projects must immediately launch emulation movements to complete projects ahead of schedule; must be more proactive and resolute, and send cadres to stay close to construction sites and work more effectively.
