(Dan Tri) - Many people, especially women, are very interested in how to have healthy, beautiful skin before, during and after Tet. However, children also need to protect their skin during this time.
According to statistics at the Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, at the end of the year, the number of people seeking beauty services increased. Specifically, on average, the Dermatology Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital receives about 300 customers per day for beauty services, an increase of about 50% compared to before.
In addition to trends to improve appearance for Tet, many people are also interested in skin care techniques, such as micro-injection (injecting nutrients deep into the skin to quickly achieve bright, smooth skin) or using modern non-invasive technologies to firm the skin and reduce sagging.
Specialist Doctor 2 Tran Ngoc Phuong, Department of Dermatology, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, said that women are very interested in the secret to having healthy, beautiful skin before, during and after Tet.
However, children also need to protect their skin. During the long Tet holiday, when children are free to play, eat, and live at irregular hours, their skin is easily damaged.
Here are 5 tips from doctors to help parents know how to care for and protect their children's skin during Tet:
1. Try not to change your daily routine
Parents should limit their children from eating too many sweets such as candy, soft drinks, bottled water, starches such as banh chung, banh tet, etc. Children should get enough sleep and should not stay up too late. Unhealthy changes in lifestyle like this over a long period of time will damage the skin.
2. Always remember to clean your skin regularly
Staying at home often can make children less interested in skin hygiene. Going out and traveling during Tet can also affect children's skin hygiene habits.
Parents should use a mild cleanser twice a day and remove makeup thoroughly at the end of the day (if the child uses cosmetics). If the child has oily, acne-prone skin, this is especially important.
3. Use products appropriate to the child's age
Children's skin is very sensitive because it is much thinner than adult skin, so it needs to be treated with non-irritating products specifically designed for children's skin. Treatment products for adult skin, if used on children, can damage the child's skin barrier.
4. Always use sunscreen when going outdoors or traveling
Sunscreen for children should be broad spectrum, protect against UVA and UVB rays, and have an SPF of ≥ 30. The ideal choice is a sunscreen containing titanium oxide or zinc oxide, because these compounds are not absorbed by the skin and are less irritating than other types.
5. Moisturize the skin to restore the baby's skin barrier
During Tet, the weather is often cold. Parents should remember to regularly apply moisturizer to their children's skin to prevent dry skin (especially for children who already have dry skin).
In addition, children should be instructed to apply moisturizer several times a day, especially right after bathing, which is the most appropriate and best time. In addition, more attention should be paid to moisturizing when children travel to dry and cold climates.
