Iontophoresis, Pico laser, IPL, Hifu and Sofwave technology helps rejuvenate skin, lift muscles, treat double chin and reduce fat non-invasively.
Dr. Quach Thi Bich Van, Dermatology - Cosmetic Dermatology Specialist, Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, shared the above information, adding that these methods are painless, take a short time to perform, have quick effects, can bring results for several months, and patients do not need to rest. Below are the specific methods.
Electrophoresis
The mechanism of operation of the iontophoresis machine is to use a continuous electric current, low voltage to help conduct drugs with positive and negative ion polarity into the skin. This method brings nutrients deep into the skin quickly without using needles.
Iontophoresis has the effect of rejuvenating the skin, supporting the treatment of acne, melasma, freckles, hair loss, and reducing fine wrinkles. After one treatment, the skin can be clearly seen to be smoother. Iontophoresis for acne treatment in particular gives effects after a few days to a few weeks, according to Dr. Van.
Common nutrients used for electrophoresis are vitamin C, HA, collagen, stem cells, acne medications, hair loss treatment products... Depending on each person's skin condition, the doctor will prescribe appropriate nutrients and electrophoresis time, on average about 20 minutes each time. If the skin has acne, it needs to be cleaned and the acne removed first.
The cost of iontophoresis depends on the nutrients. This method can be performed every week, or even every few days, the treatment can be repeated.

Pico Laser
According to Dr. Van, this is the latest technology in treating melasma, freckles, acne scars, tattoo removal, pigmentation and rejuvenation with short treatment time (5-30 minutes each time), high efficiency. Pico Laser is capable of creating laser beams with extremely short pulse duration. The machine has many different wavelengths to help accurately target treatment, does not damage surrounding tissues, and can be applied to any area of the face and body.
Pico Laser penetrates deep into the dermis and hypodermis, breaking down skin pigments, and also stimulating collagen and elastin production to rejuvenate and firm the skin. Flaws such as acne, dark spots, and melasma can be improved after two treatments. In cases of deep melasma and difficult-to-treat melasma, it takes longer and is combined with other methods such as meso injections.
After the treatment, the skin may be slightly red. After applying a mask or moisturizer, the skin returns to normal and the patient can apply makeup. The treatment can be repeated every 2-4 weeks. The cost of Pico laser depends on the area and number of treatments.
IPL
IPL uses high-intensity pulsed light with wavelengths to target the area of tissue that needs treatment, such as melasma, freckles, to help rejuvenate the skin; treat acne such as reducing inflammation, redness, dark spots; hair removal. IPL also increases collagen production, helping the skin recover quickly, firm, reduce wrinkles.
Skin can improve immediately after the first treatment. Not only for the face, this method can be done on the whole body. One IPL session takes about 20-30 minutes. Treatment time varies depending on skin condition.
Hifu and Softwave
These are two methods that use high-intensity ultrasound waves for sagging skin on the cheeks, biceps, thighs, belly fat, double chin... to lift muscles, firm skin, reduce fat, remove wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin. The Hifu method uses focused ultrasound waves and Sofwave uses parallel synchronized ultrasound waves, which are relatively expensive, said Dr. Van.
Each treatment is 60-120 minutes depending on the area to be treated. Depending on the patient's level of muscle sagging, the doctor calculates the number of times, energy, and path of the machine head, usually going from bottom to top, diagonally in the opposite direction of sagging tissue. Ultrasonic waves do not impact energy on the skin surface but transmit energy into the deep layer below, causing collagen fibers to contract, stimulate proliferation, help firm and support sagging tissue areas.
Treatment results can be seen immediately after the course of treatment. The phenomenon of increased collagen and elastin production can last up to 8-12 weeks, helping to reduce wrinkles, firm the skin, and lift the muscles. The effect can last about 6-12 months.
Doctor Van recommends that women choose reputable medical facilities when doing quick skin beautification for Tet to ensure safe and effective medicine, technology, and techniques, limit complications when doing beauty treatments, and avoid "losing money and getting sick".
