On February 15, Mr. Pham Nguyen Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province, said that during the Lunar New Year 2024 (from the 29th to the 5th day of Tet), due to favorable weather, localities organized many cultural, sports and tourism activities, so Thanh Hoa attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit at the beginning of the year.

Accordingly, during the 7-day Tet holiday, Thanh Hoa welcomed about 635,000 visitors, an increase of 48.7% over the same period of Tet 2023. Total tourism revenue reached about 588 billion VND, an increase of 51.2% over the same period. Room occupancy rate during Tet in the whole province is estimated at about 30%, mainly visitors going to pagodas at the beginning of the year combined with sightseeing.
Some tourist attractions that attract a lot of tourists include: Thanh Hoa City with about 100,000 visitors; Lam Kinh with 40,000; Cua Dat (Thuong Xuan district) with about 90,000; Phu Na Temple (Nhu Thanh district) with about 91,000; Sam Son with 65,000; Song Temple (Bim Son town) with about 40,000; Pu Luong (Ba Thuoc) with 4,000; Thanh Nha Ho (Vinh Loc district) with 4,500 visitors...
Ninh Binh welcomes 115,000 international tourists
In Ninh Binh province, during the 7-day Tet holiday, the locality is also estimated to welcome about 596,000 visitors (an increase of 50.1% compared to the 2023 Tet holiday (397,058 visitors), with revenue reaching over VND 850 billion, an increase of 54.5% compared to the 2023 Tet holiday.
International tourists come to Ninh Binh during Tet holiday
Of which, over 115,000 international visitors came to Ninh Binh during the Lunar New Year, 3.9 times higher than in 2023 (29,500). Tourist attractions such as Trang An tourist area, Bai Dinh pagoda, Thung Nham bird garden and Hoa Lu ancient town all attracted a large number of tourists.
Some tourist areas and spots welcomed a large number of visitors such as: Hoa Lu Ancient Capital welcomed nearly 20,000 visitors; Trang An over 85,000 visitors; Bai Dinh Pagoda welcomed an estimated 170,000 visitors; Hoa Lu Ancient Town over 70,000 visitors; Thung Nham Bird Garden welcomed over 45,000 visitors.
Typically, on the 4th day of Tet, Ninh Binh province welcomed 209,783 visitors, including 35,168 international visitors and 174,615 domestic visitors; on the 5th day of Tet, it welcomed 178,685 visitors, including 29,712 international visitors and 148,973 domestic visitors.
It is expected that in the coming days, the number of tourists to Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh will continue to increase. These two localities have plans to inspect and control the quality of tourism services at tourist areas and spots... to promptly detect, correct and strictly handle violations.
