The Roads Near and Far tells the story of the career journey of young people who have just graduated. This genre of film is quite rare in Vietnamese television dramas today.
Near and far roads and stories of young people starting a business
Hung, Dung, Dong, Bao are four close friends from the same hometown. Hung and Dung are brothers with the same father but different mothers.
The only girl in the group is Dong, who practices fencing day and night to nurture her dream of winning the championship. Bao is a spoiled kid with an innocent personality and immature thinking, and is very pampered by his parents in the countryside.

When Dung graduated, Hung wanted him to return to his hometown with him. He planned to spend 100 million VND to help him find a stable job in his hometown.
Dung loved his brother and took care of him with all his heart, but he wanted to stay in the city to start a career and prove that he could support himself, even though he understood that he did not have outstanding abilities.

"If I stay in the city for another 5 or 10 years, my life might not be better. Staying here, having a house, a stable job, and having you, I'll definitely have a better life. The only thing I regret is that," Dung shared with him when he returned home.
Dung's regret is: "Have you heard people say "Everyone has one life to live"? The world out there is so big.
I also want to swim out to the river or the sea to look around once.
I also want to be like everyone else. We are still young", the long dialogue Dung confided in his brother seemed to convey all the thoughts of young people today.
They are eager to prove their abilities, eager to explore the world.

Director Nguyen Mai Hien once shared that to choose those brand new young faces, he had to try, learn, and talk a lot, find out their strengths and personalities to hold hands and go together on the journey of making films.
And after five episodes, we can see the "color changes" of the characters that are supported by the audience, even though "sometimes the young actors' acting is still a bit immature" - audience opinion.

The first few episodes of the film don't have many climaxes and the pace is slow.
But the remarkable point up to this point is that through the characters Bao, Dong, Hung, the youth present in the film is colorful: effort, enthusiasm, excitement and even temporary rashness.
From episode 6, the film opens a new phase for four close friends. The journey to establish a career in a bustling city full of thorns and challenges awaits them ahead.
"Do you know why I was born into this world? To take care of you," Hung's affectionate words to Dung make the movie adorable in the eyes of the audience, even though the older brother's way of loving is not necessarily correct.
"I don't know how complicated the movie is, but the first few episodes are enjoyable. The family affection is wonderful," a viewer wrote about the movie.
